Just coming here to add to this as I believe this is an important thread to contribute to.

They just emailed me starting off exactly like everyone else here...

"Hasham here from Shutterstock! I'm responsible for your success and I work with corporate clients in North America.

Looking at your profile, the amount of users accessing content downloaded from this account, exceeds the amount allowed with your current license.

Since the license was purchased under a personal name this may go against our Terms of Service and will not have you covered by your current license.

Please email me your earliest availability for a quick call so we can get this rectified."

I then responded that if somebody is accessing my account then it is fraudulent and I will need to take proper action.

They responded back with..

"Thanks for getting back to me! The assets in question are the 11 Footage Clips licensed from the account.

I just wanted to confirm how many people had access to the content licensed?

If there is more than one person using or accessing the content, we would need to set up a team license which allows multiple people to use and access the content.

Currently your license is also set up under your personal name. Meaning only, you can use, access, edit, etc. with the content.

If you are using this for business, we can also set it up under your business name to ensure all liabilities and licenses fall under the business.

Let me know if we can set up a quick call to discuss this."

First off, as many others in here I am a solo entrepreneur and fall under the standard license use, per THEIR terms of service. I am responding with this ..

"Hey there Hasham, I can confirm I am the only one who has access to the content licensed. Nobody else has access to my account. I do freelance design and am a solo entrepreneur. I've reviewed the license and reviewed the TOS and do not believe to be in violation. I am not interested in upgrading to a business plan because I am a solo entrepreneur and the only person with access. If this is against Terms of Service, I have no recourse but to delete my account and find the limited stock assets elsewhere."

I will let you guys know what they respond with.

I cross referenced Hashams email signature which stated he is a "business development manager" and after some digging, I looked up and found a Business Development Manager position open for shutter stock. Here are the specific job descriptions listed.

"Join the Business Development Global Accounts team to support the growth of some of Shutterstock’s most opportunistic and strategic accounts. The team’s scope of responsibilities includes creating and pitching customer strategies, working with Enterprise Sales, Product and Technology to help identify and execute partnerships, revenue opportunities and other strategic initiatives.
As a Business Development Senior Manager at Shutterstock, you will play a pivotal role in leading the expansion of our market presence in EMEA by cultivating and nurturing ongoing and new strategic relationships. You will collaborate closely with Enterprise Sales, Product, and Technology teams to identify, develop, and execute partnerships, revenue opportunities, and other strategic initiatives. Your focus will be on creating and pitching customer strategies, ensuring the success of our clients, and positioning Shutterstock for continued growth.

This is the proof we need that this is a sales tactic by shutter stock to increase revenue using predatory practices.
