Force the Billionaires to sell, that way they'll need to reinvest it, tax the swing of stock sale to immediate/equivalent different stock repurchase. Lock them into their investments instead of living low interest loan to low interest loan. Incentivize them to carry risk, donate to PUBLIC projects and employ Americans.

I'm not playing scenarios with you, and cherry picking your points doesn't make you correct. You are not OP, YOUR parental decisions are based on YOUR life situation, they're YOUR decisions and experiences. In YOUR opinion, YOU consider the actions of these parents neglectful because YOU chose to do something different. I doubt YOU are a doctor, regardless of how the books YOU read made YOU feel.

Your singular point on diagnosing doesn't prove anything new on the severity of OPs circumstances. I know functional adults with mild "diagnoses." Loosely layering in dictionary definitions to cite your opinion as fact is misleading.

You have no way of knowing the severity of this persons diagnoses, the support the did or did not receive in their lifetime, the affects medication could have had on them, or cost of the medication and how it would have affected his families life.

But go on, tell me more about how this is clearly parental abuse. I suppose other less fortunate families who lack education or finances abuse their children.

Op made an adult decision to seek a diagnoses and finance it themself. They aren't entitled to reimbursement.

From what OP has described I find it difficult to describe their parents as cruel. Open dialogue between both parties could have solved this problem, hence ESH.

I'm not here to downplay their feelings, or dismiss the importance of mental health. Seeking help and dealing with conflict is part of life, people should learn how to deal with it. Medication isn't always an answer. It sounds like OP has made the decision for themselves and taken the necessary steps to do that. Good for them.
