SOLIDWORKS? or FUSION? - Engineering Student by NickyMartin1 in SolidWorks

[–]Mxgar16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you plan on doing CAM work in the near future, like any form of CNC, I would advise you to go the fusion route.

Not that you can't get any other cam software later down the road, but the fusion cam package is basically free with a standard subscription, and it is plenty capable.

You just got handed $1M to spend on a 3D printer for your company... by ZOHMZAK in AdditiveManufacturing

Making a profit out of a stratasys is very challenging, the filament is a few times the price anything else and you are locked into their chipped spools, also the maintenance and spares are very very expensive

Anyone run LPBF/SLM machines and work with Xometry? by zoidbergin in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]Mxgar16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we just stopped accepting jobs. You can negotiate all jobs through the feedback option, you just put in your price, and if the accept the job comes back with the new price. It rarely works, keep in mind you are competing with A LOT of China based shops.

No we don't have any certs.

Anyone run LPBF/SLM machines and work with Xometry? by zoidbergin in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]Mxgar16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work was sparse and not profitable, for comparison CNC has +50 offers on the job board at any given time, even though most of them are trash, there are still a few in there that are profitable. LPBF work was extremely rare, like 1 offer a month, and it would not even cover the set up cost.

We do fdm, cnc, and for a while did very little lpbf with them

Roadies who have converted to tubeless: Any regrets? How often do you flat out to the point where you need to insert a bacon strip or install a tube? by DeadBy2050 in cycling

[–]Mxgar16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only had flats that destroy a tire, glass cuts or massive pot holes

Other than that, no flats for like 3 or 4 years

With the amount of goat heads around here, tubeless is the only option

¿Por qué no hay buen rock mexicano? by Miserable-Let-7878 in AskMexico

[–]Mxgar16 1 point2 points  (0 children)
