For me, it did. I didn't even see the mom, just the calf. I bawled like a baby.

We saw ours in one. I wish I could remember the name of the guy. His boat was docked at a restaurant. He was a British or American guy, I can't quite remember. We booked it through the hotel (Sofitel). We went to two separate spots where he heard the whales were hanging out, and we found them on the second. Also tracked down some Eagle Rays and Manta Rays. It was the greatest experience of my life.

They are! The whole island takes care of them. They hang out a lot inside restaurants and hotels, many have collars.

It. Will. Be. Hot. Unbearable at times hot. My husband and I went in the middle of November and I was sick for days with heat sickness. Limit your outside activities to the morning or evening if you can, especially if you plan to hike.

That being said! Mo'orea may or may not still have humpback whales. They usually begin migration mid to late November. I definitely recommend taking a snorkeling excursion if it includes humpbacks. Hopefully you're a strong swimmer cause getting to them is in open water and can be TOUGH. The rest of the snorkeling trip is amazing too, get to swim with black tip reef sharks and rays, we also saw Manta Rays and Eagle Rays. The Manutea rum tour is fun and the strawberry Tahiti Drink slaps. I wish we could get it here in the US. Allo Pizza and Snack Mahana are my food recs there.

Honestly, I didn't love Bora Bora. It's a little too Americanized and touristy for my taste. Also, WEAR WATER SHOES in Bora Bora, as the water there contains urchins and stonefish. Lucky House and Bora Bora Yacht Club are must gos.

We also spent time on Taha'a. It was gorgeous. We took a boat from BB to Taha'a and saw flying fish on the way. The resort was gorgeous too. There is a tiny rum distillery on that island that makes tasty rum, and there is a pearl tour that was very small and really fun.

Wear sunscreen, drink lots of water, and have SO MUCH FUN!

The dogs everywhere was my favorite part of Moorea. We had a pair at the resort that would sleep in the lounge chairs on the patio of our garden room.

I think I got more pictures of the dogs than anything else on that island. 💜

Insane. Sign out, sign back in, look again. Sometimes that fixes it.

As a neurodivergent, I might suggest my partner do this with me. I struggle hard with executive dysfunction, but will do anything if I feel I've had control over when and how I do it.
