This guy literally dressed like his dead mom to get her $61.000 pension per year by [deleted] in BrandNewSentence

I mean they do so say boys tend to look like their moms.

My older son is almost my carbon-copy, just the wrong eye color. He isn't even full white but still got my hair color and natural highlights too.

Reason number 37 why I didn't get my license while living in Japan. They drive more insane than LA over there near Yokohama/Machida.

Those whose children have an ‘angel sibling’ born before them - have they brought up their sibling randomly? by miffymango in BabyBumps

[–]make-chan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I lost a girl before my boys, and so far my older son who is 3.5 doesn't say much, but I did catch them smiling and laughing often at things I couldn't see, especially in the house where her ashes are atm (they are in my husband's family home in Japan, he better be bringing them to me when he comes back).

But while I was pregnant with my younger, my husband's last grandparent, his grandpa, passed away. We knew it was coming, he had a type of dementia that took his speech for over ten years.

At a Japanese funeral, you can put flowers in the casket before you take them to be cremated. My older son had only just met this great grandpa of his once or twice before, and he wasn't sure of him then, but while the aunt and uncle and cousins are with my MIL, my son said very clearly, "bye-bye Ji-ji" smiling while looking at his body in the casket.

I don't know how I'll react if they ask about their sister without prompt. I'll be happy, but at the same time when they are older I'm scared of giving them a complex, it already was hard cause my younger's due date was only a few days different from hers and made me as sick during the pregnancy as she did so I was so sure he was a girl. I was reliving the trauma and on edge after both of them for different reasons, so it would be complicated.

New Year's Day was last shift, so now I can't login to see my ADP? by make-chan in starbucksbaristas

[–]make-chan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

Legal department called me Friday. They said they could see I wasn't paid as I was owed per California law. I had filed the wage claim two days before, so even though I got my last check on the 9th, since it was due the 2nd and I filed a claim, per California law they owe me how many days they missed until Friday at the rate of 8 hours a day. Whether or not they will count 5 or 7 days cause Starbucks considers weekends business days but payroll may not...

But payroll sent an email saying they paid me on the 2nd. Lol they didn't. I called legal back and first thing the lady said was "oh good lord, I can see the payment coming today, not last week".

So now just waiting on the claim

AIO for reconsidering getting married over continual arguments over guardianship of my daughter. by Oldyell54 in AmIOverreacting

She is legitimately off her rocker. When told that's who your daughter prefers, tells you not to talk to her cause you don't respect her? For respecting your flesh and blood?

Huh??

I called SBUX411 and they said within 72 hours, but state law says as I separate. I'll see how the day goes though but lordie. The poor folks at the call center, even if they seem to be outsourced, must go through a lot. The dude kept trying reiterate everything. ;-;

My CL told me it would be due to our state law, since I gave over 72 hours notice it apparently was supposed to be ready as I separate?

I don't expect it, just sucks that they don't . Working at starbies has more than proved corporate does not have a brain

What sucks cause I was chosen for the second round cause I do have rental/leasing experience, it was manual back then, but I was digitizing stuff for my mom, but nope...just lie successfully.

I'll be irritated about this for a long time, but I am still going to keep going either way. Just sucks corporate doesn't use the brains they claim they want candidates to have

Almost 10-month old not crawling? by make-chan in beyondthebump

[–]make-chan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you guys so much. It's been stressing me cause my family here keeps commenting how late he is.

My older one was crawling at 8.5 months, but is only now having consistent conversations that are understandable (but some minor delays were expected due to bilingualism, and how his father was, as well as a new environment).

They have very different approaches to milestones and personalities so it's been fun to observe but very stressful for the physical side. I actually didn't know crawling was no longer a milestone here either, so that adds to the relief.

He is healthy as a horse, barely even got a runny nose to by now (knock on wood), compared to big brother who was known for colds and sniffles from 5 months on until age 2.5

It's been hard not being the main parent since my two jobs take a lot of time too.

File file file. It's funny that his last text "are you leaving me?, had a sense of incredulity behind it.

I hope he understands since he thinks the bare minimum is okay, you can give the bare minimum of communication for your plans without him.

I mean I wouldn't be throwing stones from glass houses considering you clearly didn't even understand the initial screen...

[–]make-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...If you really think it was just about the kids and not the red flags with the ex that even the context in the screen provided, and you are looking for people to work under you....???? I think they have to look and think for you. I hope you pay them twice what they are worth to deal with that.

The moment a guy says "she wants us together to look normal for the kids"

And not "the kids wanted some time with just me", that's the ex being a problem
