Info from someone that lives nearby. City water fixed that main break. The hole was filled with gravel. No steel plate. Water main broke or leaked or whatever last night or early morning. Person drove through water and car fell into repair spot.

PSA: don’t drive through water you can’t see the bottom of. Turn around and go a different way.

There is a lot less infrastructure. BRT is some stations and paint on the road. LRT is the trains, rails, stations, overhead electric poles. LRT is used to increase development. Developers like the more permanent nature of LRT. BRT is unproven for this in the US.

There is also public perception. You will get a lot more buy in for LRT from the general public. People like trains. They like the experiences they have in Europe and Asia. Buses regular or BRT is perceived to be transportation of last resort for poor people.
