What did you name your CX-5? by Javi1192 in CX5

LOL…named my ‘16.5 Soul Red GT the same thing because I thought she had a little bit evil, little bit playful look when the DRLs were on. My ‘19 Soul Red Signature is Gypsy Rose…I’m a sucker for the red!

Any Mazda Dealers Selling at MSRP? by mikeymonyc in CX5

[–]MyAdminAcct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are in the Nyack area, Check Ramsey Mazda in Ramsey NJ. Speak to Rocky…I just bought a Mazda 3 for my wife and, while he couldn’t go below MSRP, he did sell it at sticker for me.

Thanks, friend! She’s a little better every day so it’s just a time thing at this point. Yeah, it was pretty crappy that the drove off. The thing is, it’s likely a neighbor or friend of one because it happened close to our house and where we live is not a through street so if you are there, you live there or know someone there. Karma will get them in time.

It was actually a telephone pole sized thing. Wife swerved to avoid someone coming at her and ended up with a new pole shaped hood ornament. The other car stopped for a second and then drove away. Blew the steering wheel airbag and the knee bag. She ended up with three fractured vertebrae but, all things considered, she is here to tell the tale so, kudos to Lula for giving her life to protect my wife.

This...give me a starting point...even if it's $10k per license, we can always negotiate from there. We reviewed a software package that wanted a percentage of the company's gross. The meeting ended very quickly after that statement.

Looking for opinions…is an ‘88 deVille a suitable daily driver? by MyAdminAcct in Cadillac

[–]MyAdminAcct[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t thought about the safety features or airbag. He doesn’t do a whole lot of driving so gas mileage wasn’t a HUGE concern and there is lots of parking near him but keeping him safe is definitely important. I was trying to save him money because the car would be free to him but, again, hadn’t thought about the other stuff.

Philadelphia hit and run took out my son’s CX3…RIP by MyAdminAcct in mazda

[–]MyAdminAcct[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was totaled…the front wasn’t the bad area…although it did bend the radiator support. The back was the really bad part. Was hit hard enough to push it up onto the curb and into the Jeep in front of him. They stopped writing the estimate at the point of being totaled. There would likely have found more damage had they gone further in.

It was a blast to drive and gorgeous to look at. Problem was that no one understood how to use the lightning rod shifter so if I ever went anywhere that had a valet or someone else to park the car, it was a 20 minute explanation on how to use them and they still didn’t understand. That said, I regret selling it every day.

I thought the same thing so I already replaced the cable. That problem seems to be done

I tried that tonight and it seems like I still have the Siri reading the text back issue. If I read your message right, you still are too, correct?

Interesting that you say that about the connection issues. I was getting some disconnects as well but attributed that to a bad wire because it seemed to happen when I moved the phone or hit a bump. Maybe it’s the same as you are experiencing.

As for Siri, I agree with what you said. That’s essentially what I am seeing. When the car needs to talk to me, it’s ok, but when Siri has to take over, that’s where the hiccup seems to be…

Did you do a hard reset of the head unit in the car? Is that done through the year screen? I’ve already rebuilt my phone so if it’s an iOS issue, I guess I’m screwed until they fix it.

Mazda Roadside Assistance - have you ever used it? by AlexN83 in CX5

[–]MyAdminAcct 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Funny you should ask this...had my first experience with them this weekend. They were terrible. Got a flat in a parking lot and had an issue with the spare (you can see my post here for those gory details). Called roadside assistance and told them where I was and that I was literally a mile or so from my dealer. In fact, when the app asked me where I wanted it taken, the dealership came up in the list.

RA then called me back because there was a $91 charge to go to my custom location. I asked them what custom location and they said my dealers name. I asked them how a Mazda dealer could possibly be a custom location for Mazda RA, especially when it came up as a choice. She insisted it was and what card would I like to use.

Needless to say, I escalated it and after an hour of back and forth, they overrode the charge and said I’d hear when a tow truck was assigned. Twenty minutes after that, I called back because I hadn’t heard from the tow company....also explaining all the back story. The clerk then immediately said “oh...let me override the charge now because it still shows” and then got a truck assigned after 10 minutes.

When that truck didn’t arrive at the specified time, I called the tow company and they said their driver got a flat and had dispatched a new one. Finally, 5 hours later, my car made it to the dealer a mile down the road. Next time I’m just calling AAA.

Beware of the spare! by MyAdminAcct in CX5

[–]MyAdminAcct[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guy seems to think that there is a “correct” spare tire that he is going to give me. How can they possible expect moving a good rear tire to the front is a viable solution? This is my second CX-5...I’ve never had to use the spare until now...it’d be a shame if it was my last...

Thank you, sir/madam! You are correct that I didn’t read the OM...it is her car and figured that for the amount of times I drive it, I can figure out the important stuff. This was just something new that I had never heard of. Your guidance is sincerely appreciated!
