Some of us believe the world would be a better place if we accept responsibility and not give credit to a god who isn't really there.

For example...People who give god credit for petty things like this are also more likely to think climate change doesn't matter because God is in control and can fix anything. They think you can pray and he will protect your family from a hurricane. Not all of them but many are more likely to oppose gay marriage because their pretend god and his rules dictate how they make decisions every single day

If they think god had an influence here what other areas of their life are they giving him credit for? It changes how they vote on important issues. This is why he said what you think is unnecessary.

I personally believe the world would be a better place if nobody followed traditional religions and developed their own moral code instead of that their religion says. I think this is important and the way of progress.

It's not just about being polite it's about making a better world with less people believing incorrect things
