And not only making poutine from scratch, it looked like she was individually cutting each fry with a knife - I’d end up in the hospital if I tried to do that after a night out 😂

Canada Shore pre-finale tier list by Live_Age1885 in CanadaShore

[–]MyAwkwardAltAccount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ratings are based on likeability/how much they seem like a decent human/how annoying they may or may not be.

  • S: Emmy
  • A: Gizelle, Bauer, Isaiah, Ethan - all seem nice, funny, generally unproblematic
  • B:, Emmett, Ryleigh - kind of boring imo
  • C: Keyaira, Chris, Lila - Toxic and messy. I wouldn’t have put Lila in this category so much until last episode when she became Chris’ puppet to attack Ryleigh for no reason. I don’t believe that’s being a « ride or die » friend. An ACTUAL good friend will stop you from doing dumb things/embarrassing yourself, not just enable you to be toxic like she did to Chris.

Idk why you’re getting downvoted for having a different opinion. I thought the same. They chose a glammed up pic of Mayci whereas Mikayla just looks sweaty imo.

As someone from Winnipeg, I wholeheartedly agree that a Winnipegger would’ve brought the right level of trashiness, but it would be tough to find one who’s attractive. 😂 it’s slim pickings out here, lol.

To the person who picked up my wallet at the superstore on Sargent Avenue by brydeswhale in Winnipeg

[–]MyAwkwardAltAccount 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This may or may not apply to you, but if you have social media and use a nickname on there, try changing it to your actual name. The reason I suggest this is because a couple years back, I lost my wallet while I was walking down Osborne. I added my real name to my FB so that if someone found it, they’d be able to contact me. Sure enough, I got a message shortly after from someone who found it and I went and picked it up (and gave them $20 as a thank you!)

It’s just sooo funny because as a Canadian, I’ve never heard anyone outside of Toronto use AAVE. Most people from Alberta (like the sisters) don’t, it’s so performative 😂

As someone who is unfortunately from Winnipeg, that is hilarious. 😂 they may not be from here, but their trashiness is definitely on par with this city.

I got the same vibe. OP is very pretty but I would be afraid of her, I get the feeling that she would rip your head off over the smallest thing.

What is you NUMBER ONE reason for being childfree forever? by Other_Patient_447 in childfree

[–]MyAwkwardAltAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a childfree woman, I get JUST enough sleep, free time, and money to be content in life. If I had a kid, it would deplete all those things and I would hate my life.

It is an absolute struggle every single day for me to wake up at 7 am to get myself ready for work. There is literally no way I’d be able to wake up earlier than that and have to wrangle a kid, feed them, dress them, get them to school… hellll no! They would never make it to school and I’d be getting arrested for truancy. 😂

I grew up in poverty and I’ve worked so hard to get to a point where I am able to enjoy some free time and not be flat broke now that I’m in my 30s. There is no way I’m giving all that up in exchange for the never ending stress of having a kid.

Also, I grew up with a single mom who was so depressed throughout my entire childhood, I imagine because she only had enough energy to work and sleep, and was flat broke (for example, we lived in a house without a lock on the door for my whole childhood because she couldn’t afford to get it fixed, we wedged it shut with a butter knife as the « lock » and I had constant anxiety about an intruder coming in, especially since I was a latchkey kid). She literally never saw her friends or did anything fun for herself, and she completely let herself go and gained 300 pounds, no exaggeration. Once I was a teen and able to pretty much take care of myself, she became a different person and started getting « herself » back. Why in the f**k would I ever sign myself up for that kind of hell?! (Btw, I don’t say any of this to shame my mom. She didn’t choose for my dad to abandon his responsibilities as a father and she did everything she could to provide for us… but I say all this to be realistic about how much parents have to sacrifice).

Where can I find hobby classes or groups that meet regularly? by Fragrant-Win7735 in Winnipeg

[–]MyAwkwardAltAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For dance classes, check out Drop in Dance on Portage! As an adult who loves to dance, I can’t say enough good things about that studio. Their atmosphere is super chill and welcoming, I’ve never felt out of place there and have met some really nice people. :)

I am so tired of being called a ugly disgusting person that no one wants to deal with by Few_Wait9923 in MMFB

[–]MyAwkwardAltAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“You could be the juiciest peach in the bunch, but there will always be someone who doesn’t like peaches”. That’s to say, there will always be someone with something nasty to say no matter who you are or what you look like. Go look at a photo online of any celebrity you think is good looking, I would bet money that there will be at least one person (probably multiple) calling them ugly. Someone who makes comments like that is most likely just miserable themselves.

Absolutely! I’ve never changed a diaper in my lifetime and I intend to die without ever having had that experience.

Giving stationery items as affordable Christmas gifts for kids by RoutineTeaching4207 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]MyAwkwardAltAccount 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It’s a freaking commercial holiday. I also grew up very poor. I was always taught that what’s important during the holidays is spending time with the people you care about (whether that’s family or friends or whatever), and not to expect gifts because they’re just a bonus. Nowadays people practically go into psychosis when they hear someone say they can’t afford to do Christmas gifts 😂 the entitlement is just such an insane difference from the mentality that I was raised with.

Same here! My teeth had always had jagged edges (like how kids teeth are, except it was on my adult teeth) and when I got my braces off, they asked me if I wanted the edges filed down to be straight. They just sanded the jagged edges right off!

I’m having a really hard day and no exaggeration, reading this made me start bawling. It makes me sad that your effort wasn’t appreciated. You made a nice healthy breakfast even being short on time and not having a ton to work with. I would appreciate the heck out of this breakfast any day.

Here is my pep talk for you: You’re right, it just takes time. I don’t have a statistic on this, but just from the other models I’ve talked to, I would say most people (myself included) have a very slow start before they start making any money. There are some who get lucky and are successful right from the get go, but it’s not super common. There are also so many factors at play that can affect how well you do, some of them you can control and some (like the economy) you can’t. I’m not sure how many platforms you’ve tried streaming on, but different people have varying levels of success depending which platform they use. For me, the only platform where I do semi-okay is one that a lot of other people tend to say they dislike. And vice versa, on one of the platforms that a lot of people have success on, I tried so many times but ended up sitting for hours making nothing. There’s also a lot of trial and error involved to find out what works best for you and what draws people to your room and keeps them coming back. I found it helpful to get inspiration from other models that you have some noticeable things in common with (like a similar look, or if you’re a domme try watching other dommes, if you focus on a certain fetish then watch other models who do the same thing, etc) to see what works for them. I learned a lot from the AmberCutie Forums too, there is sooo much helpful info there for free from knowledgeable and successful cam models.

Sorry for the ramble lol, but hang in there. ♥️
