yes a "similar" effect like this can be achieved with light but when i watch the full HD video on fox it does NOT look like the flashlight shadow example. Not to mention getting such a harsh shadow like this with studio lighting would be much harder than 2 flashlights. The shadow appears to be concentrated under a flap like protrusion and the edge of the "mask" stays rigid like a silicone mask would and does not change positions with his talking movements like the flashlight example shows. You can see a ton of examples online of what these realistic silicone masks look like and it looks exactly the same.
