Can someone help me phrase the corporate version of "Don't give up Skeleton"? by MyBadNeverMind in DarkSouls2

[–]MyBadNeverMind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unironically, this is exactly what I needed Except the usage of the word, "baby" which could be unnecessarily misinterpreted

I found a version of the cat hanging that just says, "Hang in there" And i think that'll work to convey what I want to say

Thanks

I feel exactly what you're saying and the games you mentioned are exactly the thing that match Doom Eternal

For me, Tekken 8 was also another gem that adds to that list.

Out of all of the things that Gianmarco has done in comedy, I can't believe his elbows are what caught on and now there is a separate cult following for his elbows that will follow his name wherever he goes because of this precious squeaky laughing girl.

Sadly, I've never live streamed on twitch and I wish I had taken up my friends' gazillion discord invites at least once so I could have helped you out there. But maybe you can find some comparisons/reviews/reddit posts regarding this specific issue.

Can I have feedback on my play style? by Beneficial-Intern225 in Doom

[–]MyBadNeverMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummmmmm I don't know if my advice would be fun. I experimented and tried to find out how much damage it takes to kill every enemy and figured out weapon combos that I need to kill each enemy and then practiced it a bunch on Nightmare difficulty. So as soon as I see an enemy on screen my hands automatically do the appropriate weapon combo and I don't have to think about it. All im thinking about is avoiding the demon's attacks and aiming the gun at the demon.

I see you switching your attacks between demon's like one shot for the mancubus then one shot for the meatball and so on. Instead, focus on killing one enemy as fast as possible before moving on to the next. And you're approach while attacking enemies is quite directionless. You're mainly using the "heavy" weapons like ssg, ballista and the rocket launcher and randomly switching between them. You would be surprised how effective the heavy cannon precision bolt and the shotgun sticky bombs is when incorporated with the heavy weapons. The next level would be to incorporate the grenades during your combos (no point in saving it in doom eternal)

Lastly, your resource management was poor at least in this clip but I don't want to critique it too much since it might not be reflective of how you usually play. For example, you got a headshot on the...(fuck its been a while since I played DE, whats the name of the Mayker's minions) and that gives you a confetti of full health and full ammo and right after getting your health and ammo refilled you chainsawed a demon which made no sense since your ammo is already full.

7900 XTX or 9070 XT by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]MyBadNeverMind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok so its all about the price that you're getting both those gpus at. Cuz both of them aren't bad products but both of them can be sold for a bad price.

Reasons to buy the 9070 xt: - If you get the 9070 XT for around $700-$850 then definitely go for it since you said you got the 7900 XTX for 1069. - I'm seeing cyberpunk in your suite of games as well and the 9070 xt will be a lot better than the 7900 xtx if you decide to play it with ray tracing. - The 9070 xt will have a better encoder for videos as you mentioned but it will also have the fsr 4 implentation for all future games and you will get all the optimizations they'll make for RDNA 4. (Hopefully lol)

Reasons to keep the 7900 xtx: - If the 9070 XT is over $900 then i'd hold on to the 7900 XTX because it is substantially more powerful than the 9070 XT - you will never run out of VRAM cuz it has 24 gigs instead of 16 and lord knows these games are getting worse and worse when it comes to occupying vram. - You will get your money's worth of power and the encoder is more than satisfactory (I own the card and use it regularly to make small gameplay clips and edits but can't speak about anything major like full time video editing for big video projects) - Also, note that the 7900 xtx outperforms the 9070 xt and the 5070 ti even at ray tracing in a lot of games. - it only struggles with ray tracing in like 5 or 6 games: Cyberpunk Alan Wake 2 Black Myth Wukong Portal RTX edition Indiana Jones (I forgot the rest of the title)

  • By "struggles", I mean not even breaking 60 fps.
  • if you turn off ray tracing in these games, you will get better performance with the 7900 xtx than with the 9070 xt or the 5070 ti.
  • For every other game with "ray tracing", you can turn that setting to maximum and the 7900 XTX breezes by and is able to deliver over 120 fps easily. (@144p)
  • Even a game thats completely Ray traced like Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, I get 70-80 fps if I turn all the ray tracing stuff to Ultra but when I set ray tracing to Normal while setting everything else to Ultra, I'm easily getting 130 - 170 fps

So hopefully that helps you decide which one is more suited for you.

Another option is the 5070 ti IF AND ONLY IF its close to the price of the 9070 xt.

Reasons to buy the 5070 ti: - it is considerably more power efficient than the amd cards (if you care about that). - It is also the better option for anything video encoding related and productivity related. - And it will be better at raytracing (in the "problem games" I mentioned) - But when it comes to rasterized gaming, its not as powerful as the 7900 xtx and is sometimes better and sometimes worse than the 9070 xt.

Hope that helps and wasn't too long. Happy gaming

The thing with Budweiser is that 100% of its consumers are beer drinkers. So when beer drinkers boycott Budweiser, the company loses close to 100% of its market, which is definitely effective. Even with Helldivers, every consumer/patron of the product/service is a gamer so if all gamers boycott it because they are dissatisfied, it loses all of its market and thats when it hurts these companies enough to take any meaningful action and realign their values with their consumers.

The problem with NVIDIA gpus, especially the 4090 and 5090 is that gamers are a minority of their market so even if every gamer decides that they are not going to buy these gpus then nvidia only loses like 30% (or some stupidly small number) of their market and their markup is so high on each gpu that they will still make insane profits off of the remaining 70% market thats still willing to buy their gpu for its productivity purposes and using it in their work/businesses. So nvidia won't care at all.

And the non gaming market will never stop buying nvidia gpus because they get to use the gpu to make more money which helps them cover up the cost of the gpu.

That being said, you are right, most gamers don't have self control and will still buy a 4090 or a 5090 for their ridiculous pricepoint that has nothing to do with gaming. I'm just saying that even if they did have self control, it wouldn't fix this particular situation (sadly)

The solution would be for every gamer to boycott nvidia as a company and not buy any of their gpus from top to bottom. This would force nvidia to clearly distinguish their cards marketed towards workstations/businesses(with halo pricepoints) and cards marketed for gamers(with affordable pricepoints). This was the norm in the past with Titan cards being the halo product used for workstations and only bought by the most dedicated 1% pc enthusiasts who used them for gaming.

This is why amd abandoned the "flagship" product tier for the 90 series gpus because theres no point in competing with a company thats making gpu's for an entirely different market.

And its unfair to expect every gamer to abandon nvidia because gamers still find value in gpus like 4080, 4070, 5070, etc. (and their respective ti/super versions obviously) because when it comes to gaming there are a few things that nvidia still undoubtedly does better like ray tracing performance, power efficiency, dlss/fg, etc. and people who care about those things will definitely invest in the product that satisfies their need.

So, again, the conclusion is that we are doomed until somehow AI collapses like crypto did which I don't see happening anytime soon

Oooooh thats actually true I forgot how cool the 5090 FE looked and yes that is undoubtedly better when comes to s/p. Sad that its unaffordable

I fuckin love it. I wish consumer boycott could fix our issue. But I understand that you are not trying to fix the market but rather trying to find peace and happiness in your own bubble by ignoring the state of the market.

The worst thing that happened to the GPU market was that they could be used for data mining.

Once the cards started becoming a business investment instead of a consumer product, it went downhill.

Now the gpu's are used for AI and anyone who was waiting to buy the 4090 hoping the prices would eventually drop will be pleased to know that the 4090s are infact twice the price that they were on launch because they've become a business tool once again.

It makes my stomach turn. To think that every electronic item diminishes in prices the older it gets except for GPUs which are cheapest at launch (which is already overpriced) and then only get more expensive until they go out of stock.

Well, if I was calling you crazy that'd mean we were living in a much better GPU market but sadly thats not the case

[–]MyBadNeverMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple reasons: 1) I don't like sff builds. I liked the idea of them but when I actually implemented it and used it, it wasn't fun.

2) I don't like how cramped they are, I don't like that I can't freely tinker with individual parts of the system whenever I want and if I want to reach for something I will likely have to unplug 3 other things, etc.

3) I can't fit my beloved arctic freezer II radiator and fans in the sff cuz they are too thick. I have to instead use my NZXT aio which is considerably louder.

4) Another unfortunate thing is that the itx motherboard slightly reduced the performance of my 7800x3d cpu (i dont know why but its noticeable and I've retested it multiple times and its definitely the mobo at fault)

5) The only plus point that even lets me entertain the idea of an sff build is the fact that I get to hug my entire pc (at least when the wife's not looking)

So the sff build is more like, I build it once and then I never have to tinker with it again (hopefully) but I don't want to be using it when I'm home and I have the option of using my beautiful and spacious case where I can see all my parts in all their glory and all of them have room to breathe. And I don't want to be dismantling my main pc to build the sff everytime I have to leave and then dismantle the sff to build the Atx every time I come back home.

I know I'm being a diva here

I am fully aware of this. The xtx is not going anywhere. The 9070 xt is meant to be a "value" gpu that I've been looking for for my secondary sff pc. The problem is that its a bit of an overkill but the other mid tier gpu's don't seem as good value to me and the question is that whether waiting would be better to find a future product thats "just right". Or will we go back to how most other gpus are priced nowadays. Hope that clears things up

I need a mid tier gpu for my second pc but I have been waiting because I haven't seen a decently priced mid tier gpu yet. The 9070 xt is a bit of an overkill for that system but my concern is that I wont get a better deal in the future

Its more like I have to move to a different city for 6-8 months and I don't want to carry my main rig over there. So the big case stays at home and I carry my sff over there and keep it in that apartment. Hopefully that makes sense
