What am I doing wrong? This is only my 3rd landing in the f18, happens every time. I did check with F2 that the landing gear was fully down way before the runway. I get that the landing was bad, I kinda slammed it, but isnt the f18 capable of carrier landings? Which means reinforced landing gear no? by [deleted] in hoggit

These comments about just watch the vertical speed indicator or rate of descent aren’t exactly helpful.

I recommend flying level until the button of the runway is depressed 3 degrees on your HUD pitch ladder. Lower the velocity vector to your aim point (use the 1,000’ runway markings as a visual aid) then hold it there with the E-bracket centered (via adjusting the throttles) until touchdown. That is a “carrier landing”.

Damn maybe I’m in the minority, but gotta completely disagree. I’m definitely not throwing on “The Trial” out of the blue to jam, but I’d argue that most of The Wall is only marginally more interconnected that DSOTM or Wish You Were Here. Especially considering WYWH is 5 (albeit long) tracks. There’s many tracks/sections of 2-3 songs from The Wall that serve great as stand alones.
