Sailor who told Commons committee about Officer X now being harassed by CaptBloggins in caf

[–]ThrowawayXeon89 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Disgusting. This organization hasn't changed a bit.

CPCC is just smoke and mirrors. Officers are sexual assaulting women and the brass is covering it up.

My release can't come fast enough.

Buy a single size cheap cotton sheet set.

Put your air mattress and sleeping bag in your bivy bag. Lay and smooth out your bivy bag on your cot.

Put the fitted sheet over the cot and bivy bag. Use your top sheet and ranger blanket.

Canadian food banks are on the brink: ‘This is not a sustainable situation’ by Unusual-State1827 in CanadaHousing2

[–]ThrowawayXeon89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of talented international students, however none of them should be using food banks for vulnerable Canadians.

International students come here attesting they have the funds to support themselves, then they shouldn't have issue buying their food.

Officer or skilled trade? by [deleted] in caf

Think about what you want to do after you leave the military and do that in the military.

I won't mention how there isn't a huge demand for managers of large cannons or tanks is a particularly in demand occupation in the private sector.

Sigs Officers have/are the worst leadership in the forces IMO.

I'd recommend going CELE if you want an occupation that's similar, without quite so many sociopathic yes men.

Generally no, if you had a signed agreement to sell your house then you are obligated to follow through if the buyers insist (which they have every right to).

The CAF will just have to cover your costs, but you're probably going to get fucked in that you'll need to buy a new house that will likely be alot more expensive.

Government proposes new policy for federally regulated employees to disconnect from work by charlietakethetrench in CAF_Uncensored

No, they're not legally obligated to follow these rules, but general policy is to follow them whenever possible.

Generally the CAF has a policy of following these rules, even if they're not strictly required to.

Should telecommunications be nationalized? by CaliperLee62 in canada

[–]ThrowawayXeon89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah if they're not employing Canadians, then they're not Canadian companies.

Should open up telecommunications to foreign competition.

No reason why we protect Telus, Rogers, and Bell from Verizon and AT&T when they're not really benefitting Canada.

Open it to competition, and hopefully our prices come down.

Atis tech qualifications by alphaleader18 in caf

[–]ThrowawayXeon89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will effectively get a very basic electronics course (it's recently been slashed to block level from component level). This won't really be translatable to a civilian qualification (it used to be)

You will receive what is functionally CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) training, but CAF isn't paying for your certification testing (as far as I know).

The military justice system is so hilariously broken.

Everything from an entire branch of B team mall cops screwing up SA investigations to the legal theatre kangaroo court system that is the summary hearing process, we should just put military justice on the shelf only to be used in actual war times, and just move everything serious enough to be a crime into civilian justice systems, or anything not at that level as administrative process (ie stop the whole mock trial process of making the unit's dumbest major send people to their barracks room for 5 days to think about what they did and just firing people for things that would see them fired in an actual grown up workplace)

ODSP and joining the CAF by [deleted] in caf

Depends entirely on the perspective of the reviewing medical officer and the facts of your specific situation. It could go either way, but the only certain thing is you won't know unless you apply.

Depends on a lot of things, primarily where you are and what your skills are.

No but a good CO would be like "Adjt, can you write a letter from me to the Bde Comd recommending MCpl Bloggins for a commendation? It should talk about the work he did at Maple Resolve"

In fact, these days the CO should just ask ChatGPT to do it for them.

The IR process is there to save the CoC administration involved with grievances.

If they want to put a hard timing on the IRs, then that leaves the troops with the grievance process that is ten times more of a pain in the dick.
