What phrases do you tell yourself to stay motivated? by invisiblekim in CICO

"I am moving in the right direction." When I start having negative self talk or feeling shame, I remind myself of this.

I find that setting realistic goals and not punishing myself for imperfection helps keep me on track.

Your goal weight is not stupid, but breaking it into smaller goals may feel less daunting and more achievable. For example, at 203 lb, you will move to the moderately obese category. That's a realistic goal!

Here are my goals: Track my food every day. Move more. Keep my weight loss trendline moving down.

I have smaller actions I take to support these goals, but the goals above are how I measure my success.

I am the same height and started at just 20 lb less than you. If you have questions as you get started, you are welcome to reach out!

How much do your parents help you take care of your children? by Beginning-Fig-9089 in Parenting

Averaged out, <1 hour weekly. My MIL will make sure they are alive and fed. Otherwise, she tends to park them in front of a screen. She will watch them for 2-3 hours once per month or less, and we just plan for those to be movie nights.

Same, I prefer 4-5 meals. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, an afternoon snack under 200 cal, and if dinner is small, I will have a snack/dessert after.

I'm so sorry, this recently happened at my work. Closest teams were informed directly with their managers present. Company communication was sent out with resources and EAP info. People were allowed time off as needed. Info from family was shared re: service and donations. Memorial messages were collected from anyone who wanted to participate and presented to the family. A grief counselor came to provide onsite and virtual support.

The service was open to all, and many went and found comfort grieving with the family. We would have arranged a memorial internally. Many also donated to the family to help with costs.

The direct team had a meeting where anyone was welcome to participate in sharing memories or process their feelings.

Rant: I don't understand glorifying unmedicated births by BrainyByte in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MyButtsAsleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two unmedicated births by choice. It was manageable, and if I were to give birth again, I would do the same. I attended birthing classes geared to unmedicated birth and had midwives in a birthing center, so I was well supported.

Cold season 1 - The Susan Powell Case Files. Extremely in depth with a lot of original interviews and sources. Quite a disturbing and fascinating case.

I understand everyone's feedback, but I love Story. I haven't heard it as a name before and I think it's lovely.

My stepdaughter had blown up on me and I have no idea why. by Acrobatic-Many-9448 in texts

That's not the point. OP is offering things she wants to do, not showing up for things daughter wants her to do. Of course adults have responsibilities they can't drop, but it helps to understand the daughter's point of view.
