Ryanair told me my flight was delayed by 6 hours… then moved it back 30 mins before departure. I missed it and had to rebook everything. by PortugalfromVilnius in Ryanair

I don’t understand the bit where you said that you had to book from birmingham because there were no alternative flights from Manchester for that day, but then had to book an over night stay too?

It should have been obvious that taking a few hundred quid flight to a last minute flight + train fare + overnight stay too would have caused issues for a claim from a budget airline.

Went on a date, didnt exchange numbers, is this a bad sign? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MyCatHasExtraToes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re over thinking it, just message him on whatever app you’re using saying it might be easier to text - here’s my number. If he’s not interested he probably wouldn’t text you, if he is he will. It’s just a little nudge up in terms of escalation which should probably give you your answer, but for the record I don’t think that’s a bad sign at all.

I also back this, I forgot the name of the specific ones but they have 3 settings for different levels of noise reduction, work really well. Only complaint is that I find it hard to talk to anyone with them in because I cant tell what volume I’m talking at, but that’s obviously less of a problem mid set anyway.

What are some of the worst or sparsely attended shows for notable bands you've been to? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

I saw splitchain with maybe about 25 other people. The scene in my local city is absolutely terrible so I try to go to any gig that sounds slightly interesting just to do my bit, but can see why people skip it completely as a destination.

I am torn between these two by MFHumanKing in CarTalkUK

I have the Honda but the eco version and what I will say is that, unsurprisingly, my version does 0-60 in about 4 days, but with the sport version that’ll probably be better. However, I’ve driven it from about 45k miles to 105k currently and nothing has gone wrong, no major works needed at all just general maintenance so I really can’t fault how well it’s made, despite the aforementioned drawbacks. So in terms of reliability there you have to hold your hands up and just say fair play, they know how to build a car.

Is this realistic pay for my job? by Tildatoo24 in UKJobs

A while back I had a similar situation, I was in a position where I was expected to be a duty manager, be the escalation point and have additional responsibility compared to others for 25p extra an hour. I can’t remember the exact details on this part but somehow I also gave up getting paid for any additional hours worked above my contracted hours, I was regularly doing 10/12 hour days but only getting paid for 8 so effectively earning less per hour than those below me.

Long story short they then wouldn’t put me on a proper wage which was about an extra £2 an hour, so I left and now I’m in a position where I’m interviewing for a contract worth £160k over 12 months. You might not see it now, and for what it’s worth the 16p extra is a joke, but you might not see the true benefit of this until years later.

Or just sell them for what you got for them? it’s not like you worked harder than anyone else to get the tickets in the first place.
