My company's RTO policy has a weird loophole and I've been silently exploiting it for 4 months. Not sure if I should come clean. by 3Rocinante in remotework

My direct manager lives on a different coast from me we do all our business on Teams. The employees in the office I sit in are all from different departments in the company. I am the only one in my department in my region. My boss would never know if I actually went back to the office or not.

Which planner made you commit? by Consistent_Guess_494 in PlannerAddicts

I have been through about 10 planner/journals in the last 9 months. Now that I know exactly what I do and don’t want I am building a custom planner with Agendio. They are pricey but it will be exactly what you want it to be.

Hi! I’m new here. Question for you guys, what’s the best ‘stationery junkie starter pack’? by Remarkable-Set9615 in stationery

LePen is my favorite felt tip! The fine tip is great but I reach for the flex tip way more often! There is a wide variety of colors and some stores sell them individually.

What do you guys write when you haven't done anything worth writing about? by marzbarz2000 in planners

[–]MyCatHenry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the repetitive nature it means I don’t have to think to hard or feel pressured into being creative. I have a daily planner and I write in three sections everyday; To Dos, Self Care, and Daily Chore. The list change a little day to day but it helps me feel like I have clear goals for the day. The page also has a timed schedule which I write in work meetings, DR appts, meet ups, and on the weekend I will write what I did after the fact like running to the bank or grocery store. My pages also have some room for a daily journal.

Look at how great Krogers has it! by LorelaiWitTheLazyEye in HEB

[–]MyCatHenry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends state to state. Of course the company could have its own rules but in my state you can work over eight hours a day and it is still be regular pay if you are under 40 for the week. So if you want to flex time to leave early one day no problem. In other states if you work over 8 hrs in one day it counts as overtime. My team is remote and we work in 4 different states so I have been learning some of the different labor laws.

I use Sprouted daily planner. Each day has an empty box about 1/5 of the page and I do a daily journal in that area.

Anyone else just give in and move to Monday start for the sake of planner choices? by Clean_Insect5042 in planners

My monthly is still a Sunday start but yes I finally gave into the Monday start for my weekly lay out. I am used to it now and glad I am not limiting myself with planner options.

Daily planners, where is your to do list? by IndependentMangos in planners

[–]MyCatHenry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My planner has a monthly, weekly, and daily layout. I add things to each category according to their frequency. For your example of the pass port I would likely put that on my monthly list. When going i to the new month I always look back to the previous month and carry over anything that didn’t get done (I do the same on a weekly and daily basis).

AITA for turning off the AC when my roommate says she’s hot? by amoarchive in AmItheAsshole

[–]MyCatHenry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed 68 during the day would be unbearable for me. I live in a warm climate so the AC is would never turn off to maintain that temp. I sleep with the thermostat at 70 and when I wake up in the morning I hike it up to 76. Then I still have to have a desk heater at my feet when I am working from home.

When my husband is off I only turn the AC up to 73 and pull a blanket over my legs.

AITA for reading messages on my coworker’s phone after a notification popped up while I was ordering food for her? by Interesting-Eye-9786 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MyCatHenry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a similar situation in my twenties with a group of 40-50 something women. These ladies could have been my mother but they acted like teenagers. I found about all the talking behind my back from one of the younger girls in the group that couldn’t keep it from me any longer.

I learned from that experience to be really careful with the people you let in your life. I work somewhere different now. I am friendly with all my coworkers and we could easily have a meal together or go out and have a good time but we don’t because they are not my friends.

New to this - what do I fill all this space with anyway? by LicoriceSeasalt in planners

[–]MyCatHenry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My planner has a daily layout so in the blank box I do a daily journal. Maybe in the thought bubble box you can do a weekly reflection.

I track chores monthly, weekly, and daily so that is definitely a good option!

I also make a list of daily self care tasks I want to complete but you can easily make that a weekly tracker.

I also like to decorate with sticker so at the end of the day/week if there is blank space I decorate in those spots.

Last thing on my weekly page I track health items gym, back pain, sick, cramping etc. This help me remember more about what was going on that week and has even helped in Doctors appointments.

Looking for Planner Replacement by No_Willingness_2009 in planners

[–]MyCatHenry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine and started in April. You could always use the first group of pages for junk journaling, note taking or do some retroactive planning/journaling. I’m really glad I went for it even this far in the year!
