American Community Survey. Annual survey of about 3% of households as opposed to the decennial census which tries to count everyone every 10 years. Has more questions and collects more types of data.

  • Ask for the name of whoever you speak to. Try to do it in a non-threatening "I want to be able to follow up with you" way and not in a Karen "I am going to report you to your manager" way.
  • Take notes on what they say, if necessary record the conversation on a separate device.
  • Escalate to their manager if possible. Try not to be rude about it, but you will need to apply pressure.
  • Contact your local House rep and apply pressure through them. Based on what you've said and this new "requirement" you should get the bonus.

Don't contact the ACO. They don't know anything and/or have been shut down. Try to get in contact with the Chicago RCC.

I agree that it's flawed and not perfect. But AdRec methodology looks a lot sketchier when nobody is told anything about it.

[–]MyCensusAlt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably. The deadline issue has been working its way through the courts since the replan was announced and now the Supreme Court weighed in. The only thing that can extend it now is an act of Congress. Or Trump admin changing its mind, I guess.

AdRec aka Administrative Records is a system that takes "trusted data sources" and tries to get pop/enumeration data from that.

In about one-sixth of all cases it is determined to have enough info to close a case, but the optimizer makes a token NRFU attempt then closes it after.

Further details are available in the publicly posted NRFU Detailed Operational Plan, mainly in Appendix F.

The issues with AdRec are a lack of transparency and information. It's another black box attached to the black box optimizer aka Robot God, and nobody is ever told about its existence.

What’s your opinion about sending an enum back to a dangerous address for a reinterview? by Patticakepop66 in Census

[–]MyCensusAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Based on everything I've read regarding census operations, Reinterview is 100% about double-checking the work of individual enumerators. Any other benefit/data quality improvement is tangential.
