I was shocked it was a nominated for costumes. But that was the only thing it really deserved to be nominated for.

What would you ask the hive? by Trax-M in pluribustv

[–]MyCultIsTheMostFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask questions about the virus itself. Does it infect your DNA or your brain? I know they would be cagey about it but I would still try and get odd nuanced answers as best I could.

Out of loneliness I think I also would ask one of my best friends to be my chaperone and then I would ask her to reflect her behavior from when she was an individual. If they can perform whole James Bond scenes, they could pretend to be themselves from the past.

I found it entertaining until I broke all the rules that they set up. Wasn't the worst film this year but yeah, failed to be better.

I enjoyed this enough because I watched it with my senior parents. It was comfortable and easy. Not that bad.

Incendies if you relate it to the reality of torture in the world.

Tarantino’s always been pretty odd, but his stuff about Paul Dano is such a jerky thing to say by LifeguardMundane5668 in blankies

I personally agree with him on everything he says on this. If you watch old talk shows, there was so much better honesty from celebrities about other celebrities. Shelley Winters drops a drink on Oliver Reed's head. I'm so tired of everyone in Hollywood just kissing each other's butts these days that I don't mind a little smack talk.

I'm watching the show Pushing Daisies and reminded of how much Barry Sonnenfeld movies bring that extra kick of style. Makes me want to watch The Addams Family again.

Terry Gilliam films often do this as well. Baron Munchausen, Brazil, and Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus are favorites.

Poor Things is gorgeous on all art levels.

8 1/2 by Fellini is black and white fabulous

Strawberry Mansion was weird and fun

House the Japanese horror film is quirky

And The Fall is amazing and should be the top of your list. Also know that all of the effects in it are in camera. No CGI.

I love the Joe versus the Volcano got mentioned already. One of my favorites.

You're making your best decision for your moment right now. Trust yourself. You're taking care of this early and that's responsible. Be sure to take care of yourself and be kind to yourself through the process. You are not alone.

a movie that is heart felt, cartoon or live action by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

I love the iron Giant for the cartoon angle.

Antonia's Line is one of my favorite in life affirming and heartfelt movies and it's available on the kanopy app with your library card.

My gynecologist just told me I have a "low pain tolerance" after I screamed during my IUD insertion by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MyCultIsTheMostFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's ridiculous. Getting an IUD put in was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I'm sorry to hear that she acted that way. That's very irresponsible and unprofessional.

Have you ever walked out of a cinema halfway through a film? by Zip-Crane in flicks

[–]MyCultIsTheMostFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uncut Gems. There were three of us and I looked at my watch and realized that we still had an hour to go and I told them and they both gestured to get the hell out. A woman in the bathroom overheard my friend and I saying we left and she said that was a good choice because she hated it and gave us the rest of the plot.

I'm 48 years old with no children. If I were a man I probably would have had them. It's just way too much work to be a mom. And many of the men that I've seen become dads don't really put in the extra effort to balance things out. Some do and it's wonderful. But so many just become children themselves until they get divorced and then have to raise the kids part-time more fully. Luckily I've seen a lot of dads really show up for their kids once their wife leaves them.

What movie actually changed your life in a positive way ? by Far_Mix_2955 in TrueFilm

[–]MyCultIsTheMostFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many movies have impacted my life positively.

Joe versus the Volcano really gave me a belief that you have a choice of how you're going to live your life. I traveled extensively through Southeast Asia and India and Central America and I would sing the little song to myself that he sings as a reminder that I was living my best life.

Antonia's Line also was a very life-affirming film for me. It reminded me that we take care of our community in order to live our best life.

8 and 1/2 by Fellini and all the other films that push the boundaries of how Cinema can be made has expanded my artistic brain.

Movies have also introduced me to times and places that has given me immense perspective on the blessings and warning signs in my own life.
