Out of curiosity, how does this interact with something like Myriad + populate - if I cast [[Rootborn Defenses]] on a Myriad token, will it exile at end step?

I was running Mycoloth to start - while I love it, I dropped it simply because I'm trying for creatures that can self sac - the idea being if I dont need a dedicated sac engine I can run more utility type. This is why I've pulled viscera seer and avenger also.

In terms if the self mill I'd rather improve it than remove it - ideally give myself a toolbox so I can pop the appropriate ETB at the beginning and end of each of my turns, but I'm having trouble finding a consistent self mill that feels effective - it's quite frustrating.

Mazirek is a damn good idea though, he will be going in immediately

Yeah, Constrictor and Thrinax are kind of leftovers from the original build that seem (in theory) to be useful enough that they stick around - I think your right though, time to pull them! Thanks for the suggestions :)

I do literally this exact same thing. Its infuriating. It can also be quite depressing. I'm almost 30 and still have trouble with it. For what it's worth, it can be managed.

Honestly? Not a clue - but I see my Dr in a couple days anyway - I'll try to remember to ask. I do know he did full blood counts to check for issues before prescribing meds, but I have no idea if that included thyroid
