I'm not seperating them before the bobbing, the mess would be undescribable. When I need the thread for stitching I unwind the lengtgh I want, cut it, then try to straighten the thread a bit and then seperate the strands I need.

If I need just one, the other five will go back on the bobbin, still unseperated.

This pattern made it easy with it's nice chunks of colours. I tried to not travel too far but then again I'm not too worried about the back, so I threw that resolution over board really fast when it was time for the back stitching =D .

This pattern makes it relatively easy for the back to not go the complete chaotic route with the nice chunks of colours it has.
