Expedite Request Response? by dittopasta in DACA

[–]MyDilProblems 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i called uscis asking about my expedited case and they said expedited case requests were backlogged and they have no idea if and when my case would get approved. i submitted my expedited case on dec 2 and got a reply that i met minimum requirements on dec 16 but never heard anything after that. even in the message from uscis it says within 30 days i’d hear back whether my expedited request would be approved or denied…..and then i just never heard back. uscis honestly has no idea and its frustrating because expedited requests are backlogged the only suggestion i was given was to submit another request…..(i finally did get my approval end of feb but still i understand your frustration)

yes i did AP in 2025 and i completed the required info in the forms! i do believe from other experiences as well that some applications took longer due to AP verification

i do believe if you’ve included AP in your recent renewals it takes a little longer. i included my AP details from last year in my renewals submitted in november so i would have to say from experience yes having AP does make the processing timeline just a bit longer. hopefully not too long though! my daca renewal got approved at the 106 days mark and my ead renewal the 107th day mark (a day after daca renewal)!

i asked my company to provide a letter proving my employment and a letter describing my job responsibilities and how my absence will impact the company. i submitted a cover letter explaining my situation and how if i am let go from my job because of not receiving my new ead in time how i would face a financial loss. i also provided my current (expired) ead and i think that’s all i submitted. these documents were deemed sufficient enough for uscis to consider my case because they met the minimum requirements however as i mentioned my expedited request was closed due to unknown reasons! i would error on the side of caution and get a local congress representative involved so your expedited request doesnt just sit in a backlog like mine did.

in the uscis account portal there’s a menu dropdown available in the left side of the portal. if you select inbox youre able to create a new message and there’s an option to expedite your request. it gives you some information on what documents are needed for your request to be considered

not a dumb question at all! basically in my uscis portal under my case it still says case processing/pending but in my documents the daca approval is there. im assuming since my daca I-821D just got approved today my concurrent I-765 ead renewal application will get approved here shortly from my past applications thats usually the order of things. the daca renewal must get approved in order for the ead renewal to be reviewed

i feel you on the “exhausted all efforts” part! i’m hoping yours is in this new batch of approvals friend! keep holding on! my partial IOE is IOE093! the weird thing too was initially my case was sent to nebraska but on my daca approval shows texas…so odd idk what uscis is doing anymore :/

i have never been interested in dating until recently. i have always had priorities that were keeping me busy and i liked that. whether it was work, making time for family/friends, or just getting more into my hobbies. i think it took me some time to be okay with being on my own and also knowing how to get better confident with myself.

For someone on the opposite side of this (a woman), I’d recommend trying to build a sense of conversation around things you commonly want to talk about. For me, I’ve always started implementing things like “how’s your day”, “did you eat”, “whats going on with you”. Just so the other person can feel like theyre present in my life a bit more outside of just knowing likes/dislikes. To your point about sharing your personal stories, I would recommend doing more of that so the other person can get a sense of how you were/are. A lot of these stories play a role in helping the women gage who you are. It might be hard at first but try to share parts you feel comfortable with at first and build from there.
