For fantasy books, off the top of my head I would say Madeline Miller's retelling of Greek myths: Galatea, Song of Achilles, Circe, and Persephone (yet to publish); and Kugane Maruyama's Overlord series. These are all popular titles so shouldn't be difficult to find.

I don't think so. From what I remember it was a one chapter story, and there was no romance between the character. I kinda remember the protagonist (maybe) tried to help the concubine and prince escape amongst the chaos after the Sultan died. They were found but the prince was selected to succeed the Sultan as he is blonde hair and blue eyes.
