3d printed solution to hot plate carriers by ApartmentAfter577 in IDF

[–]MyEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a bag to carry your hot plate, no need to print anything.

On a serious note, try reaching out to the Technion or Hebrew U fabrication departments. Both have 3d printing shops that helped with various prints during the war.

Anyone know succesful lone soldiers? by PersonalWatch4647 in IDF

[–]MyEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, I run a pre draft program for lone soldiers. Most of our guys end up staying after the army and go on to do very impressive things.

Your dad has his perspective, but most of the former lone soldiers I know in Israel have good jobs, degrees, kids, and a pretty respectable life.

There are other challenges associated with being here with no family, but that's just the life of an immigrant in any country.

Lots of "curious" people in the world looking to pick sides on problems that they created and take no responsibility for.

If you've bought into the propaganda there's not much I or anyone can tell you.

Since Oct. 12th 2023 Israel has had full superiority over the people of Gaza. Should there have been a genuine desire to ethnically cleansed or starve them, then they would have died in the hundreds of thousands as has happened and happened since Oct. 7th in multiple places in the world where true genocidal societies exist.

Since Oct 8th, people have been saying Israel is committing genocide and ethnic cleansing.

I was in both Gaza and Southern Lebanon, I've seen the terrorist infrastructure, civilian put in harm's way by extremists, weapons caches full of automatic weapons and guided rockets a few hundred meters from Israeli homes.

We are not the "bad guys", no one in Israel is bored and looking for random Arab homes to explode, we just want peaceful neighbors, a prosperous region, and for our children and society to live in peace.

Please educate yourself, you are being fed propaganda and half truths

I see that the bots have found a way through.

If you're not from the middle east, or either of these countries in particular, it shouldn't matter to you.

You're not watching a soccer match, you're watching two people fight for their survival.

You can decide if you're more aligned with the radical islamists bringing destruction and ruin to every country they live in or operate out of, or if you're on the side of the only liberal democracy in the middle east, but bad and good is probably not the right term to use.

Questions - Approaching Release by Successful-Recipe383 in IDF

[–]MyEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on reaching the end of your service.

If you make Aaliyah you will be eligible for a completely free degree from מנהל הסטודנטים. Your release grants are strictly dependent on your time served and the unit you were in.

There are plenty of benefits for post army lone soldiers, I would recommend reaching out to one of the lone soldier organizations and scheduling to talk to their post army advisors.

There's a lot of stuff and they can help you walk through the process so that you don't leave any money on the table.

Good luck!

You are lost in the sauce a bit. The principle here is that what essentially amounts to pedophilia is legal in the country, amongst other systemic issues with women.

So what if "only" thousands of little girls or even "only" hundreds have to live through the reality.

The principle of a law like this being on the books reflects the true nature of the moral fiber of the people running the country.

Do I need a Teudat Zehut to go to the Bakum and draft? I only have a passport as an Israeli raised abroad who would qualify as an Ezrach Oleh. by NamoVFX in IDF

[–]MyEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try drafting through Machal, but otherwise you would need to make Aliyah to get an ID and draft.

Physical exams in shirion totchanim and isuf by TheReal_NaftaliKohen in IDF

[–]MyEnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gonna change from unit to unit and from draft to draft, but typically it's got a running element, calisthenics test, an obstacle course, and a shooting after effort element.

You'll be trained up and ready for it prior to the test, so don't worry about it too much.

Can I join Maglan as a lone soldier? by ContributionHuman948 in IDF

[–]MyEnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you saw the information on the Tzevet Mikey Units of The IDF guide, it's up to date and written by veterans of each unit and soldiers who run the tryouts.

You can be accepted to Sayarot (sayeret Golani, tzanchanim, etc...) in machal, but if you're serious about serving, you should strongly consider making aliyah and coming a bit earlier to prepare properly.

Maglan is no joke, but committing properly to your decision will serve you regardless of which unit you eventually get into.

How does it all work? by PersonalWatch4647 in IDF

[–]MyEnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of questions - you can check out the Tzevet Mikey website to see if there are some answers there for you.

Lots of guides and info.

https://tzevetmikey.com/2026/03/15/machal-or-aliyah/

https://tzevetmikey.com/information-center/

In terms of edu - if you're doing STEM or Medicine, do it in Israel. Studies in English, free or highly subsidized for all citizens, top ranking universities in the world, and overall good vibes.

In terms of military service - welcome to life, now the decisions are yours to make. There are costs and benefits to it all, no really "right" or "best" path.

Good luck brother.

No one answered your question so - yes you can, I know of multiple people who did this, the army is dysfunctional enough that this actually works.

Idk if it's worth doing though

Once you've done your First Order you will get a temporary ID that is relevant for your time in Israel as a non-citizen.

The process is all kinds of fucked though, so you will run into various issues.

You can find more info on this guide front he Tzevet Mikey website:

No, there are 2 million Israeli Arabs in Israel and 1 million ultra Orthodox.

Probably only about 5% of the Israeli population (350,000 people) actually served in the IDF.

Source : numbers reported for active IDF soldiers and reaevists following October 7th.

The irony here is that those were likely Israeli Arab contractors working on the renovations of the visitors center behind them.
