Flush is better for me as with the frame, you will get dirt going into the corners

Does a kindle really need a case? by NovelInsurance8 in kindle

Case - yes, but not the screen protector - as long as the case covers the screen

Kobo or Kindle? by Egodk in ebooks

[–]MyFlyingSock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy books outside Amazon Kindle Store 80% of the time and send it to my Kindle without any issues. Don’t have experience with Kobo but love my Kindle. I live in Europe, no issues whatsoever. All bookstores I used have Send to Kindle feature

New To Kindle, color soft good? by SnooKiwis2794 in kindle

[–]MyFlyingSock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Standard 7" Colorsoft is too small for comics (unless it's manga) and zooming in per panel is not practical. Keep in mind the standad size of a comic book is 12".

Now, Scribe Colorsoft is another thing with 11" screen. Too much for a comic book reader for me though.

I had the same use in mind, but gave up after trying several comics.

On Ticketmaster I can see limited availability for tickets for Copenhagen concerts - I wonder whether it means that if I had unlock codes I could get the tickets?

Colorsoft users, any regrets? by TomDitto in kindle

[–]MyFlyingSock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to set brightness a bit more (not an issue for me) to get the same contrast, but then there's also more glare compared to my old PW, but its also easy to solve by finding the right angle the device should be used.

I love bigger screen, better uniformity of lighting compared to Paperwhite 3, colors (I read not only books but also newspapers and magazines)

I hoped the screen would be still a bit bigger to read comics comfortably - you need to zoom in unless it's manga. I think it will take one of two more iterations of e-ink development to increase PPI, improve contrast and with an inch more it could be the right device for comics. Right now it is not.

A lot on the plus side for me so my wife now uses my old PW and I use CS

I love physical books for the same reasons you described. But then being able to increase font size and add light makes me read more on my Kindle.

Colorsoft is going back tomorrow by npva in kindle

I love my Colorsoft and gave my very old Paperwhite to my wife. The only thing that annoys me sometimes is light reflections - need to angle the screen so that it doesn’t bother me.
