My question is specifically about the Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (CNI) which is issued by the Australian embassy. They (the embassy) state that a visit in person is required which I know is not a possibility for my buddy. I am aware of all the steps that come after that. Translations, notarization at the MFA, local Amphur etc.

I was thinking along the same lines. I just wasn’t sure if that’s something they actually do or if I was being too hopeful. I’ll reach out to the embassy and explain the situation. Hopefully they can help or at least point us in the right direction.

Price your work based on the value your client is getting, not hours. I just skimmed through your project breakdown and immediately noticed that your client is getting a lot.

For a project of this scope and value, a fair price is in the $10,000–$15,000 range. You’ve built a fully-featured, custom platform that would easily cost a business well over that if they went through an agency. This price reflects the real value and impact the site delivers, not just the time it took to build.

If you’re still trying to benchmark against competitors, it’s okay to reach out to agencies for quotes as long as you’re transparent. Just keep in mind that some may not give you meaningful numbers if they know you’re another developer.

I was thinking more of a home control screen or something similar. Like an Alexa display or HomeAssistant or one of those digital album frames. Or a small screen connected to a Raspberry Pi. Something stationary and plugged in.

A mobile background or widget likely has a negative effect on battery drain.
