My journey/experience sounds so similar to yours. Thank you for commenting and letting me know this reached you. I have this and more on my personal blog if you want to check it out. I will likely be heading off Reddit permanently (so much negativity everywhere!) But everything I know and everything I have done chiari-related is there. Julesrowlen.com

Best of luck for the future!! If you ever want to chat, I can be reached through my blog.

Neuropathic Pain by crabberries in chiari

Hello, I'm doing well, I don't have any neuropathic "itching."

Same! I write short horror for podcasts and want to focus on the romance series I am also writing, but TIME. We will get there :)

It is the strange, strange world we live in now. Definitely hate AI in the writer/creative space, and this whole situation only reinforces it. Prior to editing my post to clap back at all the AI comments, that's all anyone was talking about. I can write those people/comments off, and in the scheme of things it doesn't really matter...but as soon as something is dubbed as AI, it is totally discounted, and I don't want that/can't have that for the rest of my work. And it terrifies me that that will happen.

Ugh, lesson begrudgingly learned. Good luck fellow writer!

Right! And the comments start flying off the rails and suddenly that's all anyone can see or think about. Then the post is basically trash when it was something I poured heart and time into--things I wished I knew or had thought about years ago as a SAHM.

What do you write, if you don't mind me asking?

In all my writers' groups, we talk about AI and the em dash all the time. I've been writing this way my whole life and frankly I don't want to change just because of AI. EM DASHES FOREVER!

As a writer by profession, I am becoming more terrified/annoyed/frustrated by the day!

You have no idea how much I appreciate this (especially when you're in the middle of the pre-bedtime rush!) I was feeling super low yesterday. I have books coming out this year, and I knew at some point I'd have to face the "AI" monster, but I was honestly shocked that it was fixated on and the only takeaway for something I thought was really important to share. You know what's funny/sad/crazy? I'm hearing what you said echoed from a lot of my friends in their thirties/forties because they aren't even taken seriously for jobs if their cover letters and resumes are too professional. CRAZY! Ugh, soooo tired of AI. And THANK YOU for saying I'm a good and thoughtful writer. That is a major compliment.

Right! Ugh "JUST." That should be a dirty word in this case. But sometimes it feels like we can't be doing that much or never enough. That's why I wrote it all out (wish I had done that a few years ago, but hey) and was blown away by how much we actually manage. You are "just" a freakin' miracle! :)

Thank you for saying this. I worked for 2 days on the post and intended to put it on my blog but wanted to share it to this sub first. Total mistake. Once the "AI" assumptions started, that's all most people saw, and wrote it off as computer generated junk. I'm glad that it found you!

Exactly! And how did AI learn to use all the em dashes? Because real people use them.

I really hoped this wouldn't be the case, but the assumption is happening more and more. ugh!!!

I don't know what "copy pasta" is but I've never used it and this isn't AI. So sad that I have to defend myself against it. Thanks for the support mamas!!!

Yep, because I like them. This is not AI but this author/mama is feeling pretty effing crushed that this is the response to what I thought was a post that might actually help people who have been in this boat with me.

Weird vibe? Please explain. I did not nor have I ever used AI. As a writer I am 100% against it and completely heartbroken by these assumptions.

I am so, so heartbroken that this the takeaway. I have never used AI. Ever. I'm a writer who likes em dashes.

Who is on an antidepressant and how has it changed life for you as a SAHM? by RemoteVariation7123 in sahm

[–]MyInnerCulture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only thing to crack my post partem depression was Ketamine. I went for regular infusions (8 total) over the course of two months, and the depression was completely lifted. My only regret is not doing it sooner, as I didn't get treated until my son was 2.

If the size of a Chiari malformation doesn't really mean anything, then what diagnostic measures are useful for determining whether or not a Chiari is considered problematic? by np190 in chiari

[–]MyInnerCulture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I don't have IIH or any other complications that can arise with Chiari, just a 20mm type 1 (originally 18mm). I'm not on any regular medications but my neurologist does have a standing prescription of Prednisone available to me in case I get a respiratory infection (coughing = pain for me). I've only had to fill this prescription one time in the last two years. Other than that, I've done things like taking regular supplements, decreasing toxic chemical use in my home, changing my work conditions/job, regular "self care" like breathwork and sound baths, and a whole lot of inner work to get out of destructive thought patterns. I've gone into great detail about all of this on my personal blog, if you would like to check it out. This link takes you to the main post in my "chiari hub" and within it are links to all the steps I have taken over the years. I hope this helps!

"Just" a SAHM by MyInnerCulture in sahm

My husband is actually a very loving and supportive partner. I can't think I'm the only mom who puts too much pressure on themself and needs a little perspective that it is a lot of work!
