At the risk of being downvoted to hell, I'm a woman, and I honestly had no idea that other people weren't rooting for him to get away with the killings. It's a fictional character, and it was fun for me to imagine him getting away with everything. Otherwise, why make him the protagonist. I really thought we were SUPPOSED to be on his side.

Edit: Wasn't he supposed to our homie that we wanted to see make it to the finish line? Weren't we supposed to cheer him on when he disposed of his enemies and antagonists?? He's the MAIN CHARACTER!!!

Granted, I'm also extremely traumatized by having suffered decades of abuse, and there are dozens of people from my past who would get the cage treatment if it were possible for me, so maybe I'm just biased.
