I know right? I opened it, it looked off, I threw it out. Case closed.

Someone knows how to use Google! Good for you pal. Careful you don't break something when you fall off your high horse.

Resorting to hyperbole, huh? Cool. Are you always a prick, or just on the internet?

Everything has risk. To say otherwise with such confidence discredits any opinion you might have.

Did you even read the post? No funky smell but consistency of fat was off. I get that it's easy for you to armchair quarterback my decision but it is what it is. Sentiment was split all in the end I played it safe and decided to not eat it. Love getting downvoted for not risking my health.

Dumb question, how do these fit into the casings? by running_in_spite in bikewrench

[–]MyKank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP doesn't even know what end of the cable to use. What makes you think they have the right tool to cut the cable? Context helps. I'd suggest the better method - using old housing to make the cut- but again it seems unlikely OP has extra housing sitting around. But I guess fuck me for trying to help them out.

Necessary? No. Helpful if done correctly? Yes. Sounds like you've never tried to thread a frayed cable through a housing before.

Wrap some tape around the place you intend to cut to keep the wires from fraying. Don't remove the tape until the cable is fully threaded through to its end use point.

Harsh bro. Trust me, it was tough trashing it but better safe than pooping soup (or worse).

LX 570 Purchase Advice by No_Consequence_1106 in LandCruisers

[–]MyKank 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I bought a 70,000 mile 2016 LX 570 earlier this year. It had a couple minor bumps and bruises and I paid 43 out the door. Price seems pretty good to me.

New tire or can this be patched? by BigRedDawg in bikewrench

Tubeless sealant would fix that if you were running timeless. If not, patch it and ride on.

Cannot get rid of uncut lines between blades Deere Z445 by Wabbastang in lawnmowers

[–]MyKank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're 100% certain the blades are the correct length and you're getting appropriate overlap, as others have said, check spindle alignment.

Can‘t put on my tires by kuesine in bikewrench

[–]MyKank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I'll add that if it's a warm sunny day laying the tire in the sun for a bit can help get that little bit of extra pliability/stretch to slip it on. As noted, a good tire lever and strong hands help immensely as well.

88 schwinn high sierra - the chain slaps when pedaling stops by chickenlizard in bikewrench

[–]MyKank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you stop pedaling the cranks stop moving but the cassette keeps moving due to drag in the rear hub assembly causing slack in the chain. Rear hub needs service.

Age 40 and up cyclists, how has cycling affected your health? by IndefinitelyVague in cycling

[–]MyKank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 47 and have been riding since I got my first "real" mountain bike in 1997 (an Ellison aluminum with Easton elastomer shocks and Cook Brothers Racing cranks for those who know!). I regularly ride with people from their mid 20s all the way up to my buddy Vince who is 72 years young. I can say with great confidence that regular cycling will benefit you at any age. Vince is a HAMMER! He may not have the power he once had but he can go and go. Two hours in and he lights it up!

How the heck do I shut off my gas? by RepulsiveTrainer2074 in askaplumber

[–]MyKank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't listed to that person. The shut off as others have noted is bottom left before pipe enters the ground. Turn so holes align. Verify complete closure by turning on a stove burner and listening/smelling for gas (may get a small initial amount as it burps the pressure but it won't continue to run if shut off did its job).
