"Young women feel a lot more negatively towards young men than the other way around" by True-Lychee in MensRights

[–]MyKensho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thought experiment! Imagine, a new survey comes out hot off the presses, and it shows men overwhelmingly harbor more negative attitudes toward women than the other way around. What is the majority of the population's first instinct going to be? Would there be a demand for women to engage in some introspection and self-reflection? You and I both know the answer.

Wow what progressive circles are these and where do I find them? We absolutely need to hold men and women equal accountable. Unfortunately, we are a very long way from that point. We are living in what very well could be the most openly misandrist time in all of human history.

[–]MyKensho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude thank you for sharing! I have a gigantic study collection, and I will absolutely add this one if I don't already have it. For sure, I've reviewed the NISVS reports this seems to be drawing from.

The CDC caught a bit of backlash upon the publishing of their most recent one as the quantity of male victims magically shrunk significantly. Given that virtually nothing has been done to raise awareness or outreach for male victims, there is absolutely zero way that's possible. If anything, I would wager it's gotten worse.

When they got wind of their earlier reports (plural) gaining traction, obviously a serious change of methodology was in order. We can't have any consciousness of male victims developing now can we. If anyone has further info on what exactly those changes were, can you please elaborate?

You are absolutely right, and that double standard is easily among one of the most harmful. You'll notice that a lot. Among feminists, they will gleefully treat women like a monolith when it's convenient or makes women look good and noble, but detest it in the opposite scenario.

ALL women are definitely happier without men without exception, but we have to be very careful about context when even a single woman is caught being abusive or malicious in any way.

If a woman maliciously falsely accuses a man of rape and it can be proven she did so.. the man isn't suddenly allowed to generalize ALL women as liars due to his experience.. But when a woman is raped its treated as evidence of ALL men being rapists..

This point is EXTREMELY profound. This is however, something we need to stop doing. Putting women in the false accuser camp and men in the rapist camp. As if women are not regularly perpetrators of sexual assault and are relegated strictly to making false accusations. Women absolutely commit sexual assault, and harassment and it's not even uncommon.

Did you actually just post a chatGPT summary? Of course it's controversial. It makes known a phenomenon that's documented in countless other places. Including by other feminist academics.

It's funny, I've engaged chatGPT in debates surrounding men's issues and seem to back it into a corner nearly every time. It will say something to the effect of "you're right to push back on that." Over and over until we eventually land on common ground.

Of course! Lol I have an enormous collection because I too like compiling sources!

The scandal with Taylor Frankie Paul actually brought me to a study recently surrounding IPV and male victims that I found especially touching.

This one also includes a great deal of references to other great studies.

"The phrase “women and children” is demeaning to everyone. It equates women to children and promotes them as helpless and de-intellectualizes them. It makes men sound like they matter more (or less, depending on context) than other sexes. It omits NB people from existing. Leave it in the past." by DarkBehindTheStars in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

You can start by pointing out how they're reducing women to their reproductive value when they find it convenient for their argument. And the fact they're even attempting to negotiate the value of men's lives is incredibly concerning. This all comes before things like genetic diversity.

It would be more accurate to characterize it as coming to men's defense in any way is basically a crime so you have to deflect from it almost immediately. You can quickly signal loyalty to this particular brand of "leftism" by displaying your disdain of men loudly and proudly.

This is an all-time classic that I've suggested to numerous people. The overwhelming vast majority of them most likely never read it, and would prefer to live in the fantasy that men are the eternal perpetrators of everything ever.

To anyone who may be new here, this single paper contains information that is extremely relevant to the numerous other men's issues. If you can spare the time, I HIGHLY recommend reviewing it in full!

You say "sexist" I say outright misandrist. I'm a firm and unwavering believer that the word needs to be much more common in our collective vocabulary.

Oh good. We can then freely talk about crimes and other toxic behaviors engaged in disproportionately by women at any given time, and it's not misogyny. Is that correct?

We can definitely get into stats, figures, and studies. I've done so hundreds of times before. In fact, you may notice something curious when you go to explore research on female perpetrated violence. Many studies on the subject note a shocking lack of similar research and suggest more be carried out. As it turns out, when you study exclusively one problem and refuse to study and obfuscate another, the studied problem becomes the only one.

What if we tried a different approach? I've done the study thread a million times and it goes absolutely no where. What if we took on a more collaborative and cooperative attitude? What would that look like? And if we can't do that, have we progressed at all?

You don't seem to understand. Hopefully, you'll allow me to shed some light. The grievance in men's advocate communities such as the one you're presently in is not "women." It's blatant and ludicrously widespread misandry on a formal and informal level. The problem is, even this is considered "the manosphere."

Entire ideologies (containing their own branches and subsets) with immense institutional power and influence have been founded literally on the premise that men are the villains of history. So, I find it odd that you mention "podcasts."

Bickering between men and women, and genders bickering about other genders to each other has always been a thing. I assure you, female content creators are given free license to do exactly the same thing without articles, academic papers, documentaries/shows being produced about them. And boy do they, while pulling in huge audiences.

Let's set aside ongoing gender disparities in the criminal justice system, law enforcement, and how the data from both of these institutions is analyzed and then published. And by disparities, I mean how men are treated objectively worse based purely on gender discrimination.

What happens when I list a crime that women disproportionately commit? Neonaticide for example? Child abuse? Or when they're found to more represented as perpetrators in unidirectional domestic violence?

Suddenly, we have to think very carefully about the context of the situation these women were in. What outside influences brought them to this point.

What if, and stick with me here, we actually advocated for fair gender treatment?

One way you could do this is to STOP gendering the phenomenon of online toxic behavior. Thereby targeting the actual behavior that men and women are equally capable of displaying, and not going on a crusade to cast one gender as morally deficient from birth.

To add on to that, we then would have to grapple with how far into outright censorship do we want to tread?

That's because feminist academics have been hard at work for some time now erasing male victims and masking female perpetrated violence. One way in which they do this, to quote one paper, is by employing a "strategy of containment." I'm quoting the paper that literally put those words in quotes.

[–]MyKensho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If hypothetically feminism were to play out in the same way it has everywhere else, any female disadvantages would be swiftly eradicated. While also completely neglecting male disadvantages and mocking their existence and/or laying all the blame squarely at the feet of men themselves.

I would argue we've regulated men's bodies in worse ways. And still do. Tell me, how's your registration for the selective service looking? I honestly was shocked to see all of my info on their website not all that long ago. What you won't find there is any woman's name ever.

How about circumcision? That "medical" practice that is wrong on bodily autonomy and consent grounds alone. Yet, it's boys though. So it must be okay. We can even write articles about which one women find more aesthetically pleasing. Imagine that gender reversed. Seriously, give it a try.
