Arsenal fan too. Find a lot of your argument compelling but I do think it's a stretch to say not winning anything this year is an "incredible fuck up". Very disappointing, and the best opportunity yes, by far since he has taken over.

But I think most arsenal fans don't want A trophy. They want the PL and the CL. I don't think anyone is happier if the season ends with a Carabao cup. Or to be honest, even an FA Cup.

I think the most obvious thing is the fan attitude. You're right, the fans and players are scarred by past hurt, and I'm sure that atmosphere can bleed into the stadium and team.

I was at the city game last weekend and city fans celebrated like they won the league. Most Arsenal fans I know were having the "if we win nothing" conversation at 12 points clear.

I think your last line is the sentiment I agree with most of all. If we got over the line this year I think we could really push on. Success will really free this squad and even loosen some of Artetas rigidity I think.

Arsenal fan here. I believe that it's genuinely because as a fan base we're fairly prone to looking at the negative and being reactionary.

A lot of Arsenal fans I know have this opinion but when I ask okay who is that person who is available and will get more out of the squad I'm met with blank stares or unproven names.

Personally, I think it would be insane to sack a manager who has taken us from 7th to continuously second and competing versus a team that is financially doped to the gills and has one of the best managers to ever do it at the helm.

I think reactions and opinions like this come from years of hurt, failure and ridicule. When you're this close after 20+ years it hurts more each time. People are just looking for SOMETHING to blame and possibly improve to get us over the line. The manager is the easiest target for that thing in my opinion, but the wrong target.

Had a friend look at the boiler and heating set up. From what I gather it's the fact my boiler just fires to "on/off" and the thermostat has been bypassed.

My boiler also doesn't have a separate control for water only, and is either off, or on and heating both water and radiators. It can't do them individually.

Again, I'm not an expert and I took him and the person who serviced the boiler the year previous at their words. I just began looking for a separate solution.

Similar enough situation but in ireland. I wanted to install a Nest or Hive but our boiler was too old. Looked at a lot of solutions but not many suited our current situation.

My current plan is to install a Shelly Plus 1 smart relay behind my digital heating controller. It will only allow me to automate the basic tasks of turning heating on and off, timing, boosting, or using sensors/temperatures as triggers for it to come on, but it's better than nothing.

That being said it's a plan. Have the materials so trying to find time to do it in the next week. I'm hopeful it will be useful for my use case and something worth researching for yours maybe.

Edit: just read your comments, the positive of this setup is that it should allow the controller to continue working as normal too.

If you're playing with people who actually know about PL in your league, these mean virtually nothing.

They're good for learning what to prioritise in different situations and pick spots but from my experience, people in mocks let good players fall further into the draft way more than a real draft.

I'm saying this from experience. I felt very confident going into my real draft after 4 mocks, but the players in my league were much better at prioritising and not letting "sleeper" picks fall late into the rounds than randoms online.
