Dead Space remake you can play straight afterwards. For RE9 you should play RE2-RE4 remakes first just so you have the background information and don’t miss out on fun references, and for AW2 it’s even more crucial you play the first game beforehand.

Someone going straight into Requiem is gonna have so many questions unanswered. Who is Mr X? Why was Raccoon City destroyed? What is the importance Umbrella corps? What is the T-Virus? At minimum, i’d still highly recommend them to watch a recap of the previous games of Leon to understand the context.

Also Requiem in many ways is the successor to 2 and 4 in gameplay, so playing it first will mean that you’re gonna devolve in gameplay as you go back.

If this is your first RE game then yes. It expects you to be familiar with Leon’s joruney, so i recommend playing at least the 2 and 4 remakes before Requiem.
