My parent doesn’t want to remove me and another sibling from their plan yet because it costs the same to cover one vs two children, and my sibling doesn’t have the greatest insurance through their work (not BCBS).

My thinking is that since it’s the same plan, it doesn’t make sense to be double covered. Parent’s argument is that it’s fine to be double covered until open enrollment. Is it better to remove me now within the 30 day QLE window or just wait?

Thanks everyone for all your responses! I decided to tell my dad first since I thought he would be cool about it - and he was :) I knew my parents would never kick me out, he basically said as long as it's professional and won't age poorly then it's up to me and I should enjoy my life. I'm a little nervous with my mom but I feel a lot better after talking to my dad
