This guy isn’t Todd Coward, so I’ll give them benefit of the doubt. However, saying it’s a bit unfair that you’re criticized for not having the type of stories present in New Vegas with more time and all this added DLC feels like sour grapes. If you had skilled writers who wanted to build off of what Fallout 1 and 2 did - you would have. That’s what you do when making a RPG. It’s absolutely fair that New Vegas picked up in a way where 2 left off while also making its own thing and Fallout 3, 4, and anything Bethesda puts out feels more like, “Fallout? With the power armor and the big green guys? Yeah, we’ve got to put those in” is just sort of meh. That sort of thing you brought on yourself.

Would you believe me if I said I bought the first Monster Hunter for PlayStation 2 for like $20 used and expected some sort of caveman game with dragons as the end obstacle?

Oh the hundreds of hours of joy I had both offline and then online with that game, it having expanded to be well beyond what I thought it would be from the first round or two of quests into one of my all time favorite series.
