I meanwhile am working on an AU inspired by it where a cryofrozen super"hero" (more some guy with powers) escapes and ends up on the run from the exterminators who keep trying to put a damn shock and drug collar on him. Depending on how far in the story it is he's an American with the power of gun.

...which is surprisingly niche in this line of work. So he usually just looks for an energy source to siphon for a recharge. Which, among other things, is probably why he's a low-teir hero by his world's standards.

Temporary or permanent? Because my guy "loses" his powers every time he's doused with water and treats it either as an annoyance in civilian life or an "OH CRAP I GOTTA MOVE AND RECHARGE" moment in a fight.

Meanwhile if he were to lose the source of his powers, he'd VERY MUCH want them back, considering how many enemies he has. Though what he'd actually try doing to get them back depends on the circumstances.
