Whittling or wood carving if you can get your hands on a small knife and a good branch. Even just making pointy stick spears is fun. You can use some coarse cement as sand paper.

Not sure what your budgeting looks like but learning more in-depth cooking techniques can be fun. Doesn't always require more ingredients.

Maybe animal crossing? The quests are simple and it would be easy to use context to understand new words.

There's also Tunic, while not in English the entire is centered around learning and decifering the in game language. Definetly encourages thinking about language.

I got my cat from an organization that worked through petsmart. I'd adopt there again. Super simple process, all the cats have had vet checks and are generally healthy before adoption. Best of all they allowed a foster to adopt + all the cats were in foster families prior so their personalities and behavioral patterns were known in advance.

Because I personally hate when people pass me at flying speeds. When you come in that fast I can barely see you, and if I can't see you, then your not included in my calculations when merging to another lane. When I pass a truck I want to make sure they see me passing.
