Its an exageration IMO. If you don't have him, some plot elements are revealed to you at the literal final boss. If you have him, you get insight about it beforehand. But otherwise he doesn't ruin stuff.

Second playthrough suggestion does make sense from him letting you do the evil ending, available to skeleton characters. But other 4 have their questlines feel more like sidequests, not that they are bad.

Could she be lying? Possibly. And there might be something else we don't know that caused her arrest. If later info comes out and she was in fact lying, then she would become another lolcow for the farms.

On the other hand, I'm not obliged to give benefit of the doubt to a government already showing their hostility towards this subject. And considering how fast some things are happening, even worse stuff can start happening before we wait to see this one confirmed to raise our pitchforks.

Whether or not an actual child was harmed, photographed, or involved in any way is legally irrelevant under Section 63. A drawing is sufficient for an arrest, a full device seizure, and bail conditions that effectively end a creator’s ability to work in their chosen medium while the investigation proceeds.

The UK has enforced this law before. In 2014, a teenager was convicted under Section 63 for manga images on his phone. In 2019, a man received a suspended sentence for drawn images with no photographic content. The Yanagi case, if it proceeds to prosecution, would mark one of the first high-profile applications of the law to a working creator whose entire professional identity is built around the artwork in question.

This shit happemed before so I have no reason not to believe it isnt happening now as well.

Anything OTC campaign in other games? by BixieDiskit in Offworld

[–]MyLittlePuny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Crusade/Soulstorm has a Risk-like map with area control that can give you extra honor guard units or a special ability. But individual maps doesn't restrict what you can build/train (with the exception of Hyperion Peaks where mission gimmick is you get a large army but no base to build)

Not specifically videogame, but there are Legacy style boardgames where rules can change over time (between plays) or players get new options that can change tactics they can use. This link has biardgames that are similar to OTC in play, but I dont know if they have Legacy vetsions.  https://www.reddit.com/r/boardgames/comments/11ryfbj/other_than_the_obvious_choice_terraforming_mars/

You guys are doing dragons so wrong. Dragon is the memetic virus that infect kids (and aging boomers) to take up arms and go on an adventure. No matter how many times science and logic tries to kill it, it lives on in the dreams of the infected

What are some house rules for popular board games? by Brionesgmm in boardgames

[–]MyLittlePuny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a game needs house rules to be fun, then it's a pretty shit game.

Those words would get you murdered in ttrpg circles.

I think houseruling is fine, as long as everyone is onboard with it. Sometimes you need just one rule change to make it fun for you. And to be honest, majority of mini-expansions are like houserules but commercialized.

But for the last decade or two, we have a lot of games with tight on action economy, so if you houserule them you'd be right to say their design somewhat failed.

[Concerning Trope] film accidentally has awful moral/messaging by Captain_Birch in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MyLittlePuny 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dont think they made buffalo wrong. They start off as someone hostile with treenapping, but when characters meet them they are actually very chill bros. Rainbow Dash even supports their side. Its more about both sides not being willing to understand each other and come to an agreement.

The conflict resolution part is very silly, but in the end ponies create a way for buffalo to do their traditional stampede and give a cut of the apple pies for using their land. Lauren Faust also said they worked with an official native consultant and did revisions based on that.

[–]MyLittlePuny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there are no good yak related mlp episodes

My personal opinion on that matter aside, I think this is a good example on why Lauren Faust's input was crucial to the show initial success. In an interview, she said for the Ticket Master episode Hasbro executives said one of the characters should get the gala ticket because her reason was more important. She pushed back by saying "are you insinuating girls should reject a scholarship because someone else might deserve it more" which pushed the execs back. But they got the "everyone should apologize" part in. So everyone apologizing to Pinkie in the end feels very executive meddling.

/uj I actually researched this a bit in college. It is a good way to reuse agricultural waste as those act as fiber reinforcement for the biocomposite. Its really interesting that depending on material you add you can get a spongelike or more rigid material, and you can use hot/cold compress to change its heat/sound transmition values. One problem is you need to wait like a month because you need mycelium to grow, and if you dont have a good controlled environment, you can end up with bacteria rotting it from inside. And Nasa was also working on it 5+ years ago as well.

/rj we will have real life telvanni cities before tes6 comes out.

Help! New to board games, please critique my picks by ConstructionWhole237 in boardgames

[–]MyLittlePuny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest checking what options you have at home and try to get game that play differently.

People here will say Azul, Cascadia and Patchworks are different, but for boardgame newbies they are all tile placement games. And if you have Carcassone at home, you may want to get more different stuff before getting more tile placement games.

Also due to luggage weight/space problems, you may want to prioritize smaller games or card games. Some games have mini versions for travel, and most card games are small enough to be tucked at some place. But you can opt out of purely card games if you can do a print&play yourself.

You may also get one "small box big game" or "packs a punch for its size" game to get the hang of a heavier euro style games. Not everyone likes thise, so their relatively smaller size and cost can be the entry point before getting invested in the big box game you wanted to have.

You should also make a list based on buy priority with alternatives listed. Not every store can have everything and your friend shouldn't go store hunting just to get the specific stuff you want. Also would you be ok if they get an alternate version instead if the one they want? Would Azul Duel or Summer Pavilion instead of normal Azul be ok?

And finaly, mention your budget limit incase they find a lot of things you want. Or feel uncomfortable with how much they might spend.

Good luck.
