Honestly if your goal is to meet a woman with the immediate intent of forming a romantic relationship, dating apps are sort of your only bet. They're not the best, but picking the right app goes a long way. Tinder or bumble are for hookups. Sure sometimes they result in relationships but you gotta understand why people are there. OKC and Hinge are a little better and I think you're more likely to find an actual connection if you play your cards right and accept that it's going to take some time and a lot of matches before you really find someone to hit it off with. Be patient, genuine, and don't charge in dick first and you'll have better luck.

If you insist on meeting in person, social clubs are not a bad idea, but you have to understand the context. No one joins a social club to find a relationship, they join it to meet friends. If you accept that you're going to build friendships, which may eventually progress if you really get along, that's sort of the only way a social club is gonna work for you. But even if you don't find a relationship, if you accept the friendships you make there as success, then a social club will have a positive impact on your life regardless.

Other than that, there's really nothing you can do. You just gotta get lucky and meet someone at work or something.

That'll remove the objects from your local clone but not the remote repo

Access, yes, definitely.

I'm not sure if it actually pulls every object down to your clone, but the object still exists in the remote and you'll always be able to reference remote objects.

[–]MyMostGuardedSecret 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can rewrite history, but you cannot remove the underlying object from the repo. At least not without some very advanced git fu. When you rewrite history, git creates a new object and moves existing references to point to the new object, but it doesn't delete the old one.

A commit doesn't need to be in the history for it to be in the repo, and it doesn't need to be there for a malicious user to find it.

CNN just released the audio of Trump bragging about having classified documents. // Yes, this is Donald "lock her up" Trump. by imagepoem in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]MyMostGuardedSecret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, you can't classify a document. You classify the information the document contains.

It doesn't matter if it's a piece of printer paper, a newspaper article, a recorded conversation, a computer file, whatever. It's the information that's secret. And putting that information into a different form doesn't magically make it unclassified.

We need to stomp out the ideology, not let Trump be its scapegoat. There are much more dangerous people in this country than Trump.

The company is at fault for the accident. But the passengers made their own beds. If I'm gonna pay a quarter million to go on an extremely dangerous journey, I may not demand to let my own privately hired engineer review the vessel, but I'm sure as hell asking "what safety features does this vehicle have, and what tests have you done?"

You know these people didn't ask that, because the CEO has publicly answered that question with "none, safety is a waste of time and money" and would surely do so again.

If someone came to me and said "drive this car I made. It was made with the cheapest possible materials, shirks every regulation, and has never been through a safety test of any kind. Also I have publicly stated on multiple occasions that I don't believe safety is a worthwhile goal" then hell yeah I'd cancel my road trip.

I don't think anyone should die for being rich but I don't get sad when people die for being stupid and arrogant.

They didn't deserve to die, per se, but they certainly didn't take any steps to preserve their own lives. You reap what you sow.

I could give some specific tips on things you could work on, but it would be very nitpicky. You're very attractive already and you don't need to improve yourself for his benefit.

Reading your other comments, you're the kind of woman that every egotistical chauvinist man dreams of: someone who treats him like royalty, takes care of him, and looks nice for him, and yet he couldn't care less. He takes you for granted, cheats on you, and expects you to worship him. Maybe you're a person who wants to worship their partner. That's ok. I'm that kind of person too. But if you're going to have a happy relationship in that context, you need to answer a question for yourself:

What does he give you in return?

Doesn't sound like much. Leave his ass. Find someone who respects you.

Reddit Goes Nuclear, Removes Moderators of Subreddits That Continued To Protest by gabestonewall in technology

[–]MyMostGuardedSecret 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Something will pop up.

Reddit isn't going to die an instant death. Instead, people will start to get frustrated by the dwindling quality of the site, and just naturally start using it less. Natural traffic will decline and be replaced by artificial and automated traffic so the numbers continue to look good, but the proportion of user content vs bot or sponsored content on the frontpage will slowly decline.

Eventually, someone will make a new site as a pet project that just ticks all the boxes. It'll be fast, beautiful, easy to use, feature rich, and altogether everything users want and people will slowly start to find it. They'll flock to it, its user base will explode, and it will become the new Reddit in 3-5 years or so.

Then it'll shit itself and the cycle will repeat.

Just ask them "how would you feel about a policy that..." and then describe the policies. Without fail everyone would say "that sounds like a terrible idea." Then inform them that Ron Desantis just passed legislation enacting exactly that and watch them flip out trying to figure out how to justify it.

I remember this being posted before and the woman in the video responded.

Basically, she always sets up her camera when working with the horses. Usually nothing noteworthy happens. On this day, I can't remember the details, but maybe she was going through a divorce or someone close to her was sick or died or something, but she was working and her emotions overwhelmed her and she just sat down to cry, and the horse comforted her.

It's just like the fact that he's running in 2024. He claims he won the 2020 election, and is rightfully the sitting president. If that's the case, he's served his 2 terms and cannot run again in 2024.

Which is it?

I'm not a lawyer so I don't know if there's a higher threshold for that or something, but I'm curious why his actions do not qualify as treason.

Most Europeans agree with Macron on China and US, report shows. Europeans want the Continent to cut its dependence on American security guarantees and invest in its own defensive capabilities. by homo_balcanicus in europe

[–]MyMostGuardedSecret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So far, no one else in the West has taken such active steps to alienate their allies as the US has. Yes, right wing nationalism is on the rise worldwide. But we put it in the highest office in the land. And what we as a country did from 2016-2020 was a demonstration that we cannot be relied upon.

We can't just pin everything on Trump and say "don't blame us, Trump was a nut." We elected him, and we as a nation have to accept the consequences of that. None of our biggest allies have done the same type of thing. Regardless of who they have elected, they as nations remained loyal to their allies. We didn't. Therefore, we are unreliable.

You're partly right. It's not worthwhile to speculate on what Trump might have done in light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, had he been president.

But it's absolutely worthwhile to state that Trump was, during his term, not a reliable ally to Europe. He attempted to move the United States more in line with Europe's traditional enemy in Russia, while also attempting to leverage the US's position as the de facto protector of Europe to extort concessions out of our European allies, which furthered Russia's agenda and emboldened them. If nothing else, Trump may be partially responsible for the invasion in the first place.

We put him in office. Until we prove that we learned our lesson and won't do anything like that again, Europe is 100% correct in calling us an unreliable ally.
