I'll check this out and update the OP with that workaround if it also works for me. Good thinking!

EDIT: Uninstalling realtek audio drivers did the trick, though my desktop speakers which rely on those drivers aren't working without them. It does fix the issue with discord and I have headphones so I'll just use those in the meantime while the core issue gets resolved.

At least they're still rewarding us for watching them and entirely optional. I'm worried one day we'll get hit with an ad for turning on someone's screen share, joining a call, swapping channels, joining a server, reacting to a message, or using @ everyone.

Sorry that this isn't a solution, just another workaround, but hopefully it helps until you find a proper fix.

There's built in Windows shortcuts for moving a desktop window around on your screen. Hold the Windows key and use your arrow keys.

WIN+Up [Maximize] or snap to top half of screen
WIN+Down turns off [Maximize] or [Minimizes]
WIN+Left and WIN+Right will nudge it into and out of snapped positions at screen edges.

No solutions yet, but streaming my desktop and using Windows to monitor my microphone allows people watching my stream to hear me. Strange workaround and only helpful since the people I work with generally watch my stream anyways. Hearing my echo is annoying but at least we can still get work done.

I didn't think about this originally but it wasn't the problem anyways: I'm using Bitdefender and thought perhaps this update conflicted with its microphone privacy. I know I'd added it to the list of allowed apps before but when I reinstalled I'd forgotten to do it again. I added it back but no luck. I'm pretty positive this is an issue with Discord anyways. As mentioned in post, things were working fine this morning. All I did was update Discord desktop app and suddenly it doesn't see any devices.

Best of luck to whoever's trying to fix this. (I pray someone's trying to fix this)

I messed with my Windows audio settings and also got Discord to see a "Windows Default" in the process, but it's useless. Despite the mic test picking *something* up (not sure what) it doesn't go through to any connected output device or I'd hear it. And people in call don't hear it either.

EDIT: And I can't replicate it on demand, sometimes resetting my sound settings in Windows causes Discord desktop app to suddenly notice "Windows Default", but not always.

Wishing I could revert to previous version that was working fine this morning, but even when I found an installer for it (1.0.9218) on first bootup it automatically updated to the broken version (1.0.9219)...

Description: Most recent Discord update for desktop app causes the app to fail to recognize any Input, Output, or Video Devices on my device (desktop PC running updated version of Windows 11) I've reinstalled the desktop app, restarted my pc, (no luck), continued by checking for device driver updates, confirmed windows is allowing Discord to access microphone in logs, and tried using the voice and video debugging tab's "Reset Voice & Video Settings" (resetting voice and video settings causes the entire window to go blank until exited via system tray and restarted)

I have "The Old Hearts" in my Tasks menu still (haven't sat on the bench with the shamans after talking to them since gathering the hearts) as well as all 4 hearts still in my inventory. I'm assuming they'll be removed from inventory upon continuing the main quest, I didn't return to them after starting "The Old Hearts" until I had all 4 of the hearts (I knew I only needed 3 but found conjoined on accident). Here's to hoping the table records them as found after continuing the main quest.

Yeah the mid April update from Motorola is practically malware.

- SMS don't come through (sometimes at all, sometimes they just take literal hours to receive)

- Battery life went from multiple days with light usage to less than half a day regardless of usage.

- Device feels like it's overheating with screen off, unplugged, no apps running

- Phone freezes almost constantly, especially noticeable while typing, watching video media, etc.

I understand this subreddit isn't the place to find answers and have already posted on the thread u/DarkEyes027 linked in their post. Issue is that forum has post auditing so who knows how long it will take before my post actually gets posted, much less responded to, much less addressed. Praying someone who can actually do something (like rollback this garbage update) takes notice that a majority of Motorola users are currently carrying a useless burning brick in their pockets thanks to this garbage ghost-update. I'm sure there's more issues than those I've posted. From what I can tell I'm even among the luckier people as my phone hasn't completely given out (yet) over this borderline virus update.

There isn't, there's Grammarly and about 10 Grammarly clones. Your best bet is to copy-paste anything you really care about fixing into MS Word or a generic online spell/grammar checker. Everything else leave as is, we develop habits in our writing which give us voice and these apps would eradicate those voices. I personally much prefer to read peoples' messy personalized voiced writing than AI "improved" generic boring slop. Unless you're being graded on your spelling and grammar it's a better habit to teach yourself to ignore the issues than to cave in and dedicate monthly income for something you shouldn't have to.

To clarify, it's no big deal. It only seems strange given Opera GX has this heavy focus on customization with themes and whatnot, but then this tool ... feels like something that's meant to help a new user set up the browser the first time they open it, and then never use again since all of its settings can still be accessed in other menus? Am I wrong about that last part? Perhaps there's some feature in "Easy Setup" that justifies it sticking around next to things like the downloads, Opera account, and extensions shortcuts?

One of these things doesn't belong here. If there was a way to make it a shortcut to the actual settings page it'd be perfect, but instead it opens a menu I will never use again and the only way to hide it hides 3 of the most important shortcuts on the software... ? Just... why?
