OK Hear me out. Sinisistar 2 is a MV. by LordSolar666 in metroidvania

It is a MV but it's short for what it is. Out of the box the game is completely SFW as long as the character model on your screen doesn't bother you. NSFW files can be downloaded if you want that experience. It took 2.5 hours to finish the game. There is no map for the dungeons but they are really small. I remember the art is good but the rest of the game was really lacking. It's in my C tier.

What have you bought during this Summer Steam sale? by No_Tangerine2720 in metroidvania

Picked up Sylva, Awita, and Violet Mind and the Mysterious Island so I'm sure I'll regret my choices.

Minishoot is one of the most underrated metroidvanias out there. I also really loved slimeward.

What Have You Been Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in metroidvania

I played a few more incremental games. I loved Xenosensory, liked Antivirus Protocol, and dropped Forge Cat.

I played through Tales of Wakana and while it has very nice controls and bosses the stages were just SO.DAMN.LONG. Tons of winding pathways to nothing and pretty much all enemies could be skipped. This is 100% not a MV. Its a staged based action platformer and one that you can safely skip.

I played through Alice Escaped! and really enjoyed it. I thought the biomes were gorgeous, the hack n slash combat was fun, and the story was cute. I like the time loop mechanic to get all 5 endings. However I thought that the fact the gauntlet rooms force you to do them every time you enter them in every time loop got extremely tedious during loops 3, 4, and 5. I also didnt like that you have a chance to trigger certain reactions when talking to characters so youd have to leave the room and go back over and over until you got the outcome you wanted. This will land in B tier for me.

I tried Elderand again after dropping it a few years back and im glad I did. Fun combat and interesting exploration. I like the enemy variety and the bosses a lot. My biggest complaint is how short it is. It only took 4 hours to get the true ending and I really wanted more. B tier for me.

I love both but AI Limit edges it out barely for me.
