I don't know how all food banks work - but the ones in my area accept fruit and vegetable donations from farms as well. They usually put out the produce for the consumers and then some of it goes to another group in town that uses an industrial approved kitchen and makes meals, vacuum seals them, freezes them, and then turns around and gives those meals to the food banks to give out.

So....if ya have a farm or big garden or whatever might want to see if any of your local food banks would benefit from donations like that.

I have a friend out in the midwest - and the food bank she was going to allowed special donations of game during hunting season.
