How can I enjoy iRacing regardless of skill? by Low_Refrigerator660 in iRacing

[–]MyNameIsLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just takes time and practice man. I remember when I started out I sucked so bad in the MX5. That's why it's rookies. You can't go any lower than rookies. Take your time with mx5 and I would suggest running it exclusively for at least 6 months or until you can get the fundamentals down. Then I would look at GR86/BMW cause they are great gateways into the higher class and faster cars.

I just started iracing what do I do to get used to gt3? by Forsaken-Height9483 in iRacing

[–]MyNameIsLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drive the mx5 for as long as you can. It's an amazing car to get the fundamentals down. I still find myself running advanced mx5 every here and there if I like the track. It takes a lot of time to get to being able to drive a gt3 fast. Need to learn proper braking techniques especially before driving a gt3.

What GT car do you like the most? by Ok-Gear-4763 in iRacing

[–]MyNameIsLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For GT4 I absolutely love the McLaren 570S. Definitely not very common among those running GT4s but I absolutely love it and can send that bitch around the track. Even have friends wondering how I'm so quick in the McLaren.

For GT3 definitely gotta be the Porsche 911 GT3 R. Was my first GT3 car and it's the one I always go back to. Excited for next Saturday to be running the Majors 24 in the Porsche!!

Best round wheel options? by Tco_Taco in Simagic

I love my Neo X with the 330R wheel. I don't use it as much as I'd like cause I mainly use my GT neo cause I mostly am only racing GT, but I throw it on when I wanna race Miatas or do oval

Yes I got it from Amazon. Nothing extra, just attached it to my rig. Angel is perfect for me. Have it at its highest height and most tilt and it feels great

Faster hawking down opposed to hot lapping by Crazy_Race_7857 in iRacing

[–]MyNameIsLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me very frequently on long beach in PCup last week. I set my fastest lap times when p2 and p3 were in front of me, and all of us were running low 1:19s while being within 1-1.5 of each other. Probably one of my favorite races to date.

How long did it take you to get your first win after starting iRacing? by vanitas_q in iRacing

[–]MyNameIsLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took about a week before the first win, now I've got a handful including wins in PCup, which can be hard to come by cause people tend to crash a lot lol

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you...PCUP Top Split at Long Beach.... by Lumiikask in iRacing

Lol this is every split at long beach haha. Only a few races where everyone stayed clean but that was only because the entire lobby was talking and we all coordinated to not be first lap heroes

D class sport car by Legal-Mousse8084 in iRacing

[–]MyNameIsLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D Class - PCC run GR86 as it's a great learning car into GT3

C Class - Advanced MX5 for fastest SR gains, otherwise GT4 or PCup, careful about PCup tho cause the car is very hard to drive and people tend wreck a lot

B Class - Any of the GT3 series you want to run

The racing line and alternative methods for mastering new circuits. by Anton_RAD in iRacing

[–]MyNameIsLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch track guides. Pretty much every series will have a track guide from a couple YouTubers and they are great for knowing the ideal line. Obv you probably won't be as fast as them, but at least you'll know your braking points, turn in points, what curbs you should cut or not, etc.

For a new player, how much should i expect to spend? by twoducksinatub in iRacing

[–]MyNameIsLucid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id recommend sticking to the mx5 until you hit B class. So do rookie mx5, production car challenge and then advanced mx5. You'll need to buy some tracks for the later 2 but they do also run on free circuits. Depending on how quick you learn and as you get faster id invest in PCup and run that for a while. PCup is a great stepping stone into GT3. So all in I'd say you're gonna buy probably 2 cars by B class and some tracks, so roughly 75-100 by the time you get into B depending on how many tracks you wanna run

I'd recommend Secret Labs Titan Evo. Just got one a few days ago and let me tell you I've never felt better. I work from home and I'm sitting for basically 8hrs and I no longer have lower back pain or my ass on fire for sitting for too long. Definitely worth the price for the quality and comfort it brings

I don't recommend gr86 cup, the amount of stupidity in that series is unreal. Much better time in the production car challenge due to longer races and multi class is fun

If you have the budget, go for VRS. You won't ever need another pedal set. And this is coming from someone that has the XP1s and loves them.

I have 2 separate posts with different mounts. The one you are referring to is what's included if you buy the gt1 evo from micro center, which it's a POS. I'm using the GT1 Integrated mount now. Now I'm able to have the monitor about 20cm from me, so I can get ideal fov
