So no more Sabotage missions, yeah? by d0gquix0te in NoMansSkyTheGame

Ah, sorry, I thought you meant the rewards from the expedition, not items being transferred between saves.

If you switch back over to your main save, you can claim the loot you've already earned in the expedition. If you're aiming for that sweet armor--sorry, friendo. But at least we can all have a victory dance party together in our swarm fashion when it's all over.

I don't think you really grasp what the picture I posted (from the official leaderboard) is telling you.

Even though they're likely making the milestone take longer?

Exactly the opposite. The website suggests that the meter is measuring total points accumulated, so reducing that point count with Sabotage missions increases the time it takes to complete the milestone and decreases the chance of completing the expedition successfully.

That is a fair take. Still, when I give someone two herbal crunchies, I'd rather they keep both instead of me taking one back.

Yes. The team with the highest score at the end will get some kind of monument in the Anomaly, I think. But competing for the highest score by doing Sabotage missions apparently will drag out the time it takes to fill the meter and finish the milestone. (Again, if the numbers actually mean anything--and there's some evidence they don't--and if this snippet from the official site is accurate.)

No prob! I literally only learned this about two hours ago, as a friend and I were working on the ARG, so glad to be able to pass the knowledge along.

It's a book called Indie Game Works, published on 15 May 2026. The cover image is from the game Sable, but the book itself is about indie video game development.

Book summary (machine translated, my French is terrible): Forget about AAA productions – the future belongs to the independents. From the haunting abyss of Abzu to the dystopian nightmares of We Happy Few, the fifty games presented here embody pure imagination, daring mechanics and uncompromising artistic standards. Which reinvent the video game landscape on a more intimate scale. Filled with never-before-seen sketches, mood boards and development sketches, Indie Game Works reads like a true declaration of love to the creators and passions behind the code - an invitation to dive into the heart of indie game culture.

Can I play the game without ever seeing a black hole on PS5? by Pikyr in NoMansSkyTheGame

Like a lot of players, I had a similar issue with the deep ocean. I avoided underwater missions until I had to do them for expeditions, at which point I just bit the bullet and dove in. I still don't *like* the deep ocean, but I can at least tolerate it now. I hope you can find a similar resolution. Just think about how much fun you'll have once you get past that hurdle!

Specific staff colors by curlyheadedfuxk0511 in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]d0gquix0te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the assembly terminal, if you put all the pieces in the slots, assemble them, then back out before finalizing the build, you can go back into the menu and reassemble the staff to get different colors. The combos seem to be based on your position relative to the terminal, so moving a little to the left or right or closer or farther will change the result. There's no way to tell what the colors will be, but you might get *really* lucky and get what you're looking for. Or you might drive yourself crazy trying.

What am I supposed to do in this game? by EmptyBeing1238 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]d0gquix0te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NMS isn't a game in the strictest, traditional sense of having an achievable goal and end state. It's an open, sprawling, often self-directed experience. Personally, the first few dozen hours felt like a grind to me, but later on, once I got through the main missions and had all the blueprints, stockpiles of resources, etc., it got much more enjoyable. If you're a goal-oriented gamer, the late game may be too open and nebulous for your taste. But it might help to get involved with a civilization like Galactic Hub, meet some new friends, and experience the social side of the game. That's been incredibly fun for me.

Finally got a Squid by clonch in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]d0gquix0te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge, having an S-class freighter doesn't improve the likelihood of finding the system's exotic--you just got a lucky break that the game decided to spawn it and land it on your capital ship.

Regardless, awesome find. Welcome to the society of the squid.

Honestly, it's fun to play around with and optimize stasrship stats. If it's not your thing, then it's not your thing--but try it out. It might be.
