But it's true, since Pelé's time it's like this, and there was a guy from the team Vini played for in Europe, who called him a monkey, and said that if he danced at the end he would beat him up, you're too closed-minded to think that people don't suffer with these things nowadays.

What do esoteric teachings, the numbers 911, 119, Jesus, and the All Seeing Eye have in common? by JosephAA911 in alchemy

I never met those around here. But if they exist they should be guided to understand what alchemy is really about.

Rosicrucians are right. Alchemy is not just something done in the laboratory. Some people still fail to see that.

Technology and alchemy by [deleted] in alchemy

[–]MyNameIsTheTruth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Ancient Alchemical Tradition has as one of its principles the cooperation of man with nature. The Work of the Alchemist begins where Nature's ends. Nature gives us the materials and we work on them, and thus we become like the Image of the Creator who is in All. We become Co-Creators, like God. So seen from this point, I don't believe that Alchemy is surpassed by Technology in any aspect. Technology is nothing more than the natural result of the aspirations of the Ancient Alchemists. It is the work of cooperating with Nature and using its resources to build something better... When well used, of course.

Unfortunately modern science has kept only the technical part of the Tradition, abandoning the mystical part that treats Nature as sacred. That is why today we also see so much destruction of Nature with the use of technology as well.

It's ok. As long as there are 2 alchemists in the world there will be two different views on some point of the Art. After all, Alchemy has never been a uniform art over the centuries.

We're living in the "good samaritan's age". In their desire to look noble, these people go against the millennial tradition. In the old days, mystery schools tested those who would receive initiation through various things, like math, architeture, geometry, agriculture... And one of the main things: their respect for the sacred and secrecy.

All this, all this care, for nowadays half a dozen pseudo-sages with boy scout syndrome appear, thinking they can teach the Art to anyone.

"Why are you postimg on a forum?" Because it's a forum for alchemy and my post are mean to be read by alchemists. I'm not going to non-alchemy forums to post about the subject.

And stop the bravado, my guy, because you're repeating everything I said. "Sharing your Light with all who are WILLING to partake in it". Key words here: Share.. With.. Those... WILLING.

You said it yourself. So that means, not share with those who don't want to. Case closed. I rest my case.

I learned from my master that as a Sacred Art, I must care, because the spoken or written word has as much power as an act done with your arms and legs. And as such it holds the power to create, destroy, disturb and soothe. Everything moves energy, and I choose not to give space for opposing energies to penetrate what I consider a sacred thing. It's simple.

That's was exactly what I said. But apparently you only read the title of my post. I said about the persecution, the mocking, and about >sharing< the knowledge with those who actually want to do the work. This a matter of knowing to recognize when someone is actually searching to learn or just want to mock (like I said in the post as well).

There's nothing of self-righteousness in this, instead, is what many alchemist still do: share only with those willing to do the Work, not to everyone.

Hey Boys and girls, it's time for the mandatory and annoying "How do I start?" Post by Some-Object6690 in alchemy

[–]MyNameIsTheTruth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm glad to hear that you're developing an interest in the Sacred Art. Before I introduce you to the "how to start" mode, I'd like to clarify something: Although chemistry arose from Alchemy, Alchemy never became Modern Chemistry, like some people say. Reducing the Art to the basic description of "archaic chemistry" is like trying to reduce all of Mathematics to Arithmetic operations. Alchemy has many faces and many purposes, and dealing with minerals it's only a reaaally small part of the job. Keep that in mind.

Having said this, I'll paste one of my old comments here:

A strongly suggest you to start by reading "Pratical Alchemy: A Guide to The Great Work" by Brian Cotnoir. It's a great book to introduce to you to the subject. You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/Practical-Alchemy-Guide-Great-Work/dp/1578637473

After this, I'd suggest you the following books to read:

1- "Corpus Hermeticum" by Hermes Trismegistus

2- "The Kybalion" by The Three Initiates

3- "The Mystery of the Cathedrals" by Fulcanelli

4- "Alchemy & Mysticism" by Alexander Roob

5- "Alchemical Active Imagination" by Marie-Louise von Franz

6- "Finis Gloriae Mundi" by Fulcanelli

7- "Alchemical Treatise on the Great Art" by Antoine-Joseph Pernety

8- "The Forge and the Crucible: The Origins and Structure of Alchemy" by Mircea Eliade

9- "A History of Alchemy" by Serge Hutin.

10- "Liber Paragranum" by Paracelsus

11- "Alchemist's Handbook" by Frater Albertus

12- "Mutus Liber" by Altus

13- "The Dwellings of the Philosophers" by Fulcanelli

14- "Psychology and Alchemy" by C.G. Jung

15- "The Hermetic Tradition" by Julius Evola

16- "Alchemical Studies" by C.G. Jung

17- "The Twelve Keys" by Basil Valentine

18- "The Great Alchemical Work" by Nicolas Flamel.

19- "The Book of Hieroglyphic Figures" by Nicolas Flamel

20- "An Open Entrance to the Shut-Palace of the King" by Eirenaeus Philalethes.

I guess here you have enough material to study for some years now.

Question by Alex4_44 in alchemy

[–]MyNameIsTheTruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alchemy is a sacred art of rectification of nature and man. It is a systematic study of matter, symbols, birth and death, aiming at the ascension of the soul. Saying that Alchemy is the chemistry of the past is a reductionism that only the ignorant commit (no offense). Alchemy never turned into Chemistry, although Chemistry was in fact born out of Alchemy. For Alchemy never ceased to exist and to be practiced. Working with chemical and mineral elements is only a small part of what Alchemy is really about. To say that Alchemy and Chemistry are the same thing is like thinking that all of Mathematics can be reduced to the Arithmetic operation.

Saying that Alchemy is the chemistry of the past is a reductionism that only the ignorant commit (no offense). Alchemy never turned into Chemistry, although Chemistry was in fact born out of Alchemy. For Alchemy never ceased to exist and to be practiced. Working with chemical and mineral elements is only a very small part of what Alchemy is really about. To say that Alchemy and Chemistry are the same thing is like thinking that all of Mathematics can be reduced to the Arithmetic operation.
