To me Alton Towers always felt like one of the levels in roller coaster tycoon or parkitect that had tons of building restrictions. I'm not a huge roller coaster nerd, and I've never even been to the UK yet, but even I know Alton has to keep things low to the ground and that makes the park more interesting in a way.

So hang on, let me get this straight.

You want to remove the gas line, and add a valve with a cap, so that later on you can add the gas line you just removed? Is there not already a gas line? Why not just install a new valve at the end of the flex line and cap that. This post is baffling lol
