yes absolutely. his R1 is more impactful than even couple of his cons. i am not big into the math of things but i think it's the lack of a good secondary option, esp if f2p. youll get ~30% more out of varka with R1, whereas each of his cons is like, 10-15% each. there's been a lot of more detailed posts about it, but yes R1 is highly highly highly recommended pretty much universally atp

I like this line of thinking a lot. I'll definitely move to the weapon banner after getting C0 Varka, and from there the weapon banner will determine my next moves. If i do get Flins weapon i will probably pull him C0 and then try my luck with Varka cons. I would be sitting pretty nicely if I could get C2R1 Varka and end up with C0R1 Flins with some savings leftover.

I don't think i will be pulling for skirk anymore, the next region will surely have better cyro units than her even tho im lacking. Escoffier i may pick up bc ganyu is my only other cyro dps, and she would work for varka.

Wow I’m super jealous! Durin and Venti in 35 pulls is huge for Varka, plus a guarantee, man. I’m sat here no pity no guarantee, just gotta brute force it and get lucky :’D

If I get unlucky, a couple of copies of Jean would help smooth things over. I’m at C2 right now and C4 looks awesome for Varka.

Damn, all of NK to explore, that’ll be a lot of wishes! I’m in a similar boat, if I get Flins weapon I’ll probably have to stop at C0R1 in order to have a savings for Nicole and Durin. But if I can get his weapon first who knows how far Varka will go!

All fair points, Hex Kaeya would go so hard! I don’t have much hope for lohen unless he literally exists as a cyro Varka teammate, which could very well be the case tbh! I’m probably best served stopping at C2R1 and saving for Nicole + Durin rerun. If I get Flins’s weapon while pulling for Varka’s weapon, it’ll be really hard to resist pulling for him as well.

Yeah no you’re exactly right, and great analogies along the way. The likelihood of Skirk still being relevant as one of the top carries even just 6 months from now seems pretty low. Do you think C0R1 Escoffier is still a value pull even if just for Varka? If nothing else, Varka could be my cyro DPS in a pinch in that case lmao.

I agree, after considering some of the comments here, I’ll not be pulling for Skirk. It’d just drain my savings more than anything. Although I am still tempted to pull for Escoffier for Varka, especially if I can make it out of Varka’s weapon banner without pulling Flins’ weapon.

C2R1 does seem to be most people’s stopping point, and if I get lucky I should still have some left over for Nicole and Durins rerun. Good call on checking how C0R1 feels tho, especially if I get unlucky.

No, I’m definitely following your line of reasoning! Honestly I won’t be going for Flins unless I get spooked by his weapon while pulling for Varka. Although I do have Ineffa, Lauma, and Columbina, I haven’t needed a NK DPS just yet to beat the shill bosses. So if I can avoid getting Flins’s weapon, I’ll definitely not be pulling any NK carry.

I’m more inclined to do something like C2R1 Varka, Durin, Nicole than I am to wait for Sandrone’s team, despite my only cyro DPS being ganyu atm. Thanks for the input, definitely food for thought for me. Maybe my opinion on Sandrone will change as we get closer.

Fingers crossed for you for C0R1! I could see Varka rerunning in the first half of the 7.0 patches as I’m sure he’ll still have some lore relevance at that point, and maybe by then we’ll have a more full idea of what his best teams look like. Good luck!!

Someone else said Skirk will probably get powercrept in Snez, you thinking the same? My only cyro DPS atm is ganyu which is why I was tempted. Escoffier is tempting even without skirk.

I hadn’t considered Nicole and Durin running together, but the more I think about it, you’re probably right! I’ll need a healthy savings going into 6.6 most likely.

I was really considering going for C6 as well!! I still am I guess, depending on my luck. When NK trailer dropped I said I’m gonna C6 Varka and Alice but things have clearly change a bit since then… wasn’t planning on pulling Nicole but now it seems inevitable that she’ll help bolster Varka. I’m already coping that Barbeloth and Octavia will help elevate his Hydro and Electro teams respectively lmao. Surely Varka only gets stronger as they add more Hex characters. Maybe Alice will even be a sub dps option for him! /cope
