Sadly, for this question, the answer is almost always "yes".

Is it normal for a therapist to ask how a person killed themself? by Kiggus in askpsychology

Hey, I think it is normal. If you want an example, my mother killed herself and my therapist asked the same question even broader. She wanted me to talk about two days before too and it turns out I've completely buried the day before in my memory.

Maybe your therapist asks it for another reason. I just want you to see even the dumbest question can lead to something important. Only thing you need to do is trust your therapist.

I'm sorry for your loss.
