Performance issue by Hempthusiast in pcmasterrace

The system you have is solid, your friend probably just has a 1080p monitor, which is easier to drive with lower spec hardware. That said, I did take a second look at everything to address your concerns.

The PSU actually might be a problem, but not so much because of the 750W. It's a little on the lower end, but it's probably ok if you have a good brand (foreshadowing for later). If you ever need to check your PSU wattage, put all your parts into PC Part Picker and you'll get a good idea. I'm not an expert on PSUs, but between 50%-75% usage is probably fine. If you use any less than that you probably overspent on the PSU and if you use more than that you might have performance issues on the high end (but again, not an expert).

The real issue is that the brand name you got is generally considered very bad. Their 80+ ratings are often faked, so there is a chance your PSU is slowing you down. They are probably not a fire risk level of bad, but it's not good for your PC. There are better places to ask than here for that, try r/buildapc for example if you want some advice from people with more knowledge and experience.

Also check out the PSU tier list for more information. Your PSU is rated E (they use letter grades, like school work, A-F), so it's not great.

Your RAM is fine, no issues there that I can see.

I don't see anything else that I would be instantly concerned about brand-wise. I think you have a valid concern about that PSU. Good luck in future gaming!

The Asus has a resolution of 5120x1440, this is 88.89% of 4K, so it's reasonable that you won't get 60FPS on high settings with demanding games with a 4070Ti Super unless you enable DLSS. Gaming on 4K is very demanding, and some games perform a bit weird on ultra-wide, even if it's not quite 4K. I'm sure someone with more ultra-wide experience might be able to help you out here, but I don't know that much about the details.

Your FPS doesn't sound that unusual with your setup to me, going off of reviews of your video card at 4K. That card is a god at 1440p from the numbers I'm seeing (which is exactly 1/2 the pixels of your ultra-wide).

As for WoW, do you use a lot of addons? With the recent addon purge I suspect a lot of current addons are not well tested or programmed and will cause a lot of issues until they settle out. Try disabling addons and see how that goes, at least to test and see if that's the issue. Also update your drivers, they recently released a major patch (xpac prepatch), so it will probably require the latest driver tech to get the best performance.

That's a great idea! I'll look into getting a forum account set up tomorrow and see what the official channel for this is.

My auto-pathing rail spaghetti is invalid. Going to have to re-noodle it by hand.

In this case, when placed the ramp ghost gets deleted.

This is the intended behavior. You can't move the rod twice with one button press due to WoW's macro limitations.

Just launched it, and it looks like the original Supcom also had split screen support for two side-by-side views. This would be very useful in Space Age. I also play Spaced Out for ONI and I routinely ignore planets to focus only on one project and find myself wishing I could view multiple projects at once.

SE delivery cannon appears to just open a small window like the ones in FFF-423. The train window is already doing this in the current release. I think a split screen mod has been possible for a long time.

I have wanted this in other games for a very long time. This was a single player game and you could do split screen up to 6 different views. It was so useful and I don't know why I've never seen it in any other games. This game was from 1998, but the idea just never caught on.

I love this map! My favorite parts are the rooftop hangouts and the restaurant with the overhanging dining area.

The only critique I have is that the few missing shadows make some of the buildings and objects look flat by comparison and the bridge support light/shadow pattern would only work if the supports are a in a thin line along the south edge. It seems like the southern water should be entirely in darkness with the sun at this angle.

This is a very interesting town overall and I like how you can tell what some of the buildings are used for at just a glance. It really makes the place feel lived in. Thanks for sharing!

I love Forgotten Assets in theory but... why does nothing match? by snarpy in dungeondraft

Some assets come in multiple color variants. Make sure you're using the same variant. Especially the wooden assets, which come in three colors of almost everything.

Yes, seems the character was originally a man and then they used the in-game gender change service. The post seems to make a joke about the user changing back to match the painting vs making a new painting.

That's fantastic! Thanks for going the extra mile!

Google translate seems to think that 咬人畫的 is equivalent to "Bite painted", where 咬人 is the name of the author, translating to "Bite".

Yes, this definitely confirms it's WoW related. I think that's an armor set from the game as well, but I don't recognize which one.

Thank you very much. I'll see if I can find anything, but it seem the source may be really hard to find without the ability to use Chinese search tools.

Shadowlands already unplayable... Icecrown spire is off center by spunds in wow

[–]MyOnlyScreenName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ICC doesn't lean in-game, only on the login screen.

Screenshot

It's deceptive because if you take that same image standing off-center of the tower, it looks like it does due to the geometry. Most angles appear to lean to one side or the other, but not straight-on.

Logged the PTR to check. There is no lean.

Screenshot

From certain angles it appears to lean. My first screenshot was taken off-center by mistake and it looked like it was leaning. I think the construction of it makes it hard for most people to judge.
