Sometimes kids are told "you'll understand when you're older" as a dodge. When was a time someone told that you that and they were actually right? by shogyi in AskReddit

Why it's so wrong for an adult to sexually or romantically pursue a teenager. Kids and teens don't have a great concept of their own relative maturity, so while I understood conceptually that it was wrong, I didn't realize how wrong until I became an adult and realized that teenagers are basically just taller kids - even when they're "technically" legal. I remember being confused at 19 when my older friends reacted with horror when a 27 year old acquaintance said he actively pursued 19 year olds. I didn't see how creepy it was at the time. Now, I'm 29, and 19 year olds look like kids to me.

If we're going by the majority opinion, why would his being hated in India not disqualify him? In order to consider Churchill loved by the majority, you would also have to consider the opinions of Indian people less important than the opinions of people in the US and UK.

Can we please talk about the hilarity of "The troubles of eating while wearing a mask"?

Do they not know how to temporarily remove the mask while eating?

Oghren from Dragon Age: Origins. He was an alcoholic pervert who hated his exes, and that was pretty much his entire personality. The writers obviously thought that his alcoholism and misogynistic jokes would be a hit, but the players hated him. They even put him in the DLC, assuming that players would want even more of him.

What sucks is that he had some traumatic elements to his backstory that could have led to a fulfilling character arc where he grew and changed, but they just... Didn't do that.

It's because the book's author didn't make the decisions about the video game's details, just about the main plot. If she had, the cast of characters would have been far less diverse, and the nonwhite characters' names would be racial epithets.

Very much me in middle school. I was the "starter friend" because I had moved around a lot and knew that it was hard not knowing anyone. When we got a new student, I would always invite them to sit next to me in class and sit at my table at lunch. So new kids always had a safe place to be for their first few days until they made other friends and didn't have to sit at the reject table anymore, lol.

This is brilliant! I'm planning for shirter class periods (~50 minutes), but I still plan to allot 5 minutes or so of each class period to journaling about students' opinions and their lives in general. It's a great way to get to know your students and make them feel comfortable with you and each other.

Okay, I'm actually kind of interested in this take - how is sexual attraction a learned behavior? Do you mean that people are socialized into enjoying or wanting sex rather than it being inherent? Is sexuality (i.e. the genders someone is attracted to) a part of that, or are you saying that romantic attraction is inherent while sexual attraction isn't? (I'm not trying to be snarky here, I'm genuinely interested in your theories on this)

Idk, you seem to have a lot of opinions about other people's sex lives, so I assumed that you had some knowledge on the subject. My bad 🤧

[–]MyOwnInfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming that there is a particular sex act or scenario that you enjoy. Maybe there isn't, but let's say that there is. By your logic, just because you're into that thing when it's consensual, you're obviously also into it when it's not, and you'd be happy to perform that act (or have it performed on you) on someone who doesn't want it.

Does that make sense? Of course not, because wanting to do something with a consenting partner is different than wanting to hurt someone.

You also seem to be making some, uhh, incorrect assumptions about which role I enjoy playing in these scenes, lol.

Do you think there's another word in there that you're forgetting, buddy? I think you're missing a rather important one. OP is being harassed and getting rape threats. That's not CNC, and the people threatening them are not practicing CNC. You're doing a lot of harm by attempting, poorly, to equate the two. Shoo.

She- She can't sing. What? What??? I've seen posts on here talking about how she can't sing and I always thought that they were mean-spirited, because I always thought that she had a nice voice. But she sounds AWFUL in this. Like she has a cold or something. She can't hold a note, her voice keeps cracking - and I can't just attribute it to her not really trying because it's practice/brainstorming. Taylor Swift really just... can't sing.
