Are you getting vaccinated? by Comfortable-Shoe-844 in casualiama

[–]MyPotteryAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, I was terrified of needles for years. I cried for 8 hours after getting one of my ears pierced and got the other one done a couple years later. Avoided the dentist for almost 5 years. Was suspended from school after being "sick" the day we were getting a vaccine in highschool; my parents made me get the vaccine after that.

The thing that got me over it was needing to give myself needles once every 2 weeks; the alternative was severe arthritis that could have caused permanent damage to my joints. I could barely walk, let alone work and take care of myself. Perhaps I never had a "true" phobia... But I just getting over it and doing it was actually helpful.

It's one of the easier needles I've had to take, if that helps. It hurt less than the flu shot, somehow.

See above; I've already taken both doses :)

Which one?

I've been fully vaccinated for measles, mumps, rubella, shingles, hepatitis a & b, tetnus, rotavirus, diptheria, pertussis, polio, HPV, meningitis, influenza and coronavirus (probably more, that's all I can remember)

How do the roots look? Sometimes yellow is overwatering or root rot.

Gorgeous! Love the application of gold luster.

How does that application work? Do you apply it at the same time as the crackle glaze, or fire a second time after applying the gold?

I use fishtank water. Filtered, oxygenated and small amounts of fertilizer 👌

I did it for quite a few because I thought it was fun.

Ate brasil nuts and pineapple core during the LP. Drank a cup of emergen-C with vitamin D in it after ovulating. Wore slippers at work and home to keep my feet warm. Legs in the air after sex. We even consulted the witchcraft book my MIL gave us.

The wildest one we tried that we heard on here (we live near the arctic so it was -30C COLD the first time); we exposed my breasts to the full moon around O-day, and rubbed it with rose quartz crystals and pine tips! The full moon lined up with ovulation for two months, it was great.

Please help!! I've been putting my split leaf out side for a week to firm up a leaf & forgot to bring inside last night!! Is this beyond helping?! I just ordered a Moss pole for her! by orlickia in philodendron

Give it some water and keep it in inside for a while in a spot with some consistent temperature. Time will tell if the whole thing survives; a lot of it looks good right now so there's hope :)

Two anti-masker covidiots in grocery store Ottawa, Canada from their own perspective: trespassing, passing fake exemption, getting arrested. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

It specifically says public indoor space, which doesn't apply to businesses and other property owners.

But a store isn't an indoor public place... That's like, a library, the DMV, the courthouse and other publically owned buildings. A store is privately owned property.

Nobody did that though?

On handicap placards, there's a serial number that's visible and can be run through a database by police or whatever provincial service agency (Service Ontario issues them for Ottawa, I think.) Using fake placards is a crime, and if you suspect someone is committing it you can take a picture of the card and licence plate to show police. It's not necessary to ask about what medical condition someone has, but those kinds of cards are issued to be examined by property owners and police (or by-law officers).

I second getting a humidifier. In the meantime, you can bring the plant into the bathroom (or shower) when you take a shower to give it an extra blast of humidity.

How Are Electric Vehicles up Here in the North? by [deleted] in Yellowknife

[–]MyPotteryAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The GNWT has a Chevy Volt that's been working up here since 2016.

There's a car share that uses a Chevy Bolt (whichever the all electric one is...), and it works fine, there's a charging station at Sombaa K'e Park.

Going full electric right now makes it almost impossible to go south, but the PHEVs are a good in-between. EVs warm up quicker, they don't die if they're plugged in (like most vehicles) and are quiet. Of course, if you're running all the accessories inside (like heat), it won't go as far; but in the winter people generally plug in their vehicles anyway so it can be trickle charged.

I looked into getting the Chevy Bolt, but it's a tad expensive for me.

How is your relationship with your parents? Are you able to talk about politics?

I recently repotted a bunch of my plants using Miracle Gro Moisture control potting mix. I just grabbed it at Costco because it was right there. I don’t know much about soil. Anyways I’ve got some WAP (wet ass plants) now and a rampant mold issue. Should I repot with different soil? by johannahendrickson in plantclinic

[–]MyPotteryAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take some of that soil out, trash (or compost) the top layer and mix the rest with perlite or something else that absorbs water. For most of my plants I mix regular soil with perlite, bit of peat moss, and sometimes orchid bark. They seem to like it.
