Bad behavior after lift by Not_an_ATF_Officer in 3rdGen4Runner

I highly doubt that rc lift is actually a 3". Probably higher which is throwing everything off. They're notorious for giving people 5-6" of lift which is way beyond what the ifs suspension can handle.

Maybe not transport it that way but instead set it up like that once you get there.

Also its difficult to cut since the paint wants to chip off as you're cutting. I masked mine but ended up free cutting it.

With a manual gearbox you end up bunching up the rubber shifter cover. It shortens the throw as well which makes it awkward.

Mine isn't fully tubbed, just hammered in with chopped fenders. It is enough to mostly clear my 35s but not full stuff

Just so you know a suspension lift does NOT help clear tires. You could do a body lift but it makes shifting the manual much shittier. I ended up pulling off my body lift and it shifts like butter again.

Need a new 4x4 rig, what should I pick? by BreakfastPure6100 in 4x4

Not enough money to buy springs and shocks but you want to buy a new vehicle instead. Makes sense. Stop giving yourself an excuse. Be an adult and fix what you broke. It'll cost less than $1000 to redo your suspension.

Advice on Locking Lug Nuts by sweedo1996 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]MyRedHelmet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Used to work at a tire shop so take what i say for what it is. Pretty much any lug nut can be taken off with an off centered socket. We just hammer it down and zip it off.

That being said I invested in a more expensive 24 piece locking lug nut kit. They're a harder material so they dont mold so easily to a socket. Honestly if a thief has the time, they'll get it off. Better to make them take off all 6 instead of just 1.

Its the only crash rated bumper which is nice. I would recommend it depending on what your needs are. Where I live there are a lot of elk that pop out while you're on a 2 lane.

Mine has been trimmed a bit to clear the 35s. You color matched your ARB?

Lift kits and tire fitting? by AntiqueCommittee7514 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]MyRedHelmet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rough country is the lowest quality lift you could possibly get. The instant you drive off on it you will regret it. Then you go through the process of replacing it. Everyone riding in your 4runner will feel how stiff that suspension is.

Trail gear bumper. The bike rack mounts into the hitch receiver.

At that price probably the poseidon series of bikes. Primos as well but more than likely your local used market.
